I don’t want to dampen your excitement but in America an ordinary entry level lecturer AKA graduate assistant is called a professor in America. (Technically an assistant professor). Every lecturer in a university in America is referred to as a “professor”.

Being called a professor in America does not mean you have the same ranking as a British or Nigerian professor. Americans use the term “professor” the same way we use the term “lecturer’. We do not distinguish whether he is assistant lecturer, lecturer grade 1/grade 2 or senior lecturer.

Being a professor at the age of 25 is not possible in Nigeria at all. Your lecturers will be the first set of people to kill that dream no matter how intelligent you are. Nigeria educational system needs to develop seriously, when a student deserves merit, the student should get the merit.
It's equally ALMOST impossible abroad. You go from pre-tenure, tenure, associate, then full!

huh

A professor at 25years old, if the United state have not allowed him to start university immediately he finished his secondary school, do you think he would have become a professor at this age?

Nigeria has a long way to go, and yet they are calling Nigerians in diaspora to come back home, so that they can corrupt their mind..

Rubbish country

In Nigeria you must be 18 before you write JAMB
Wow! that's counter-productive to the student don't you think? I mean not all students are the same. So if you have a genius at age 14, he should have to wait 4 more years to write JAMB? Wow!

See, understand that even in saner climes, you won't be ready for uni until you're 18. Their system is designed like that. Now, in the case of genuises, it's up to the school to write the govt and the prospective uni that they have a genius on their hands that can't be taught high school stuffs anymore. Then the kid is taken to the uni and strictly supervised until they are 18.

In my opinion, uni isn't for anyone under 18. Most 18 year old can't even co-ordinate themselves properly outside, what does a nigerian 14year old know? A kid that can't even decide what he likes and stand by it without the input of a parent. They lack social skills, have poor decision making because they're not used to making their own decisions, no matter how small... these are aspects of ones life that ought to be in place before uni.

I support the 18 years old to write jamb.

Bro, a simplr google search dey talk say na crap you dey talk o. You sure say you understand wetin you read? They only call them prof as a form of courtesy.

A lecturer can't conduct research, a prof can. So by your admission, everyone teaching in an american uni can conduct a research.

Totally wrong bro.
