Your Untested Agenda Can’t Serve As Better Alternative, Onanuga To Atiku by dre11(op): 1:25am On Nov 04, 2024
Hardship: Your untested agenda can’t serve as better alternative, Presidency replies Atiku

The Presidency has knocked former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his attack on the economic reforms of the present administration, saying his alternative ideas were rejected by Nigerians at the polls.

Atiku had attacked President Bola Tinubu for the prevailing hardship in the country, accusing him of “trial and error” economic polices.

But reacting to the development, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said “Alhaji Atiku’s ideas, which lacked details, were rejected by Nigerians in the 2023 poll.”

The Presidency also said “If he (Atiku) had won the election, we believe he would have plunged Nigeria into a worse situation or run a regime of cronyism.”

Onanuga also said Atiku lost the election partly because he “vowed to sell the NNPC and other assets to his friends. Nigerians have not forgotten this, nor would they be comforted by Atiku’s antecedents when he ran the economy in the first term of President Olusegun Obasanjo’s government between 1999 and 2003.

“As vice president, Atiku supervised a questionable privatisation programme. He and his boss demonstrated a lack of faith in our educational system, and both went to establish their universities while they allowed ours to flounder.”

The presidential aide who described the present difficulties as temporary said, “Despite the futile attempt to hoodwink Nigerians again in his statement, it is gratifying that the former Vice President could not repudiate the economic reforms pursued by the Tinubu administration because they are the right things to do.

“His advocacy for a gradualist approach only showed that he was not in tune with the enormity of problems inherited by President Tinubu. It is so easy to paint a flowery to-do list. It is expected of an election loser.

” President Tinubu met a country facing several grave challenges. Fuel subsidies were siphoning away enormous resources we could ill afford, and there was criminal arbitrage in the forex market. No leader worth his name will allow these two economic disorders to persist without moving to end them surgically.

“While advocating for gradual reforms may sound appealing, Tinubu took measures that should have been taken decades ago by Alhaji Abubakar and his boss when they had the opportunity.”

He was once a vice president and their agenda worked for Nigeria and Nigerians

They produced ezekweseli, el rufai, Dora akunyili, Ngozi Okonjo, the EFCC, BPE, brought mobile phones to Nigeria, popularized private universities etc

Has Tinubu done one tenth?

The untested agenda is 1million better than the man with millipede brain occupying the position.

A classical case of a headless man that bribe his way to presidency, surrounded himself with same brainless entities. You can imagine the fate of such nation

They all agreed to remove subsidy.

Subsidy was removed.

Those who lost are now turning their backs on the outcomes. This is why they never deserved to win.

Atiku had his chance as VP. There were serious issues arising from his managing sale of FG assets. There were issues arising from the power sector reforms and how that administration wasted money. They celebrate debt forgiveness. That was shameful. Has anyone bothered to ask about the cost of that debt forgiveness? If that Obasanjo/Atiku administration was not hopelessly visionless, could they not find something sensible to do with the money they threw away to buy debt forgiveness?

Was it not during Obasanjo/Atiku maladminiatration Nigeria started subsidizing dollars for the rich? Did both Obasanjo and Atiku not start their own private universities while in government exactly after winning their 2nd term?

Was it not Obasanjo/Atiku that starved Lagos State of LGA funds? Who suffered?

When Emefiele started naira repainting scheme, didn't Atiku support it, thinking it would be to his advantage? Is naira not scarce today because of Emefiele's demonic tendencies?

When Atiku saw that he was losing the court case against the person who defeated him, did he not go to the US to try to rubbish the person? Didn't Atiku support the #EndBadGovernance protests? When they became riotous and some of the children asked Atiku to be handed the seat he lost, why didn't Atiku speak up against it? Must he play politics with everything?

The north has had Almajiri problem for years, how did Atiku help to resolve the problem? It took a southern president to build schools for them which they have not attended.

Knowing how fragile our country is, was it fair that 8 years after Buhari ran the country, Atiku wanted to succeed him? Sadly, we are not there yet.

Atiku who now prides himself as a hypothetical problem solver could nit resolve the PDP crisis that eventually cost him the election. Even now, the party is in turmoil because of one person. Atiku cannot use his influence to rein in on the person, but he assumes he can solve Nigeria's problems.

Atiku, you had your chance and you did not immortalize yourself. Allow Tinubu do his four years and run against him in 2027. If Nigerians prefer you, they'd give you their votes. Your selfishness might make people wary of you if you continue in this trajectory of politicizing everything.

You are saying what you'd have done if you were president. But you are not president, which makes your fundamental premise flawed and everything that followed the flawed premise unintelligent.

it's like you are saying that the bath was dirty, that's why you throw away the baby with the bath, does that make sense ?

Who are those siphoning the enormous resources, can't you fish them out and sanitize the system in NNPC?
Is fighting corruption not part of reason why you are president?

Now, you have thrown away the baby with the bath by removing subsidy.
The enormous resources you have gathered in the process is useless because you cannot execute any capital project without fuel which is the main energy to drive private participation as it stands.

And since private participation is stagnant due to fuel scarcity and limited transportation of goods and services, therefore the economy will remain stagnant pending on when you start having sense..

Atiku's privatisation and deregulation agenda for industrialisation that provides jobs and good wages for a robust GDP was tested during the PDP administration of 1999-2007.

Without Atiku, the Otta farmer would have deen fixated on his suboptimal backyard, peasant farming ideas of primitive orangutans.

Obasanjo is clearly clueless about the economy, which explains why he imposed Yar'Adua on the country in 2007 despite Katsina state's poor economy, and eight years later he endorsed Buhari to help T-Pain make his 2011 expired Abacha PTF a-looter comrade president, even though Baba Iyabo knew that the old soldier was an olodo in managing the economy.

Can anyone be more unpatriotic than Obasanjo among our leaders? Who is that huh

In what is turning out to be a season of open letters, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Iyabo, has ruled out further communication with her father till death, describing him as a liar, manipulator, two-faced hypocrite determined to foist on President Goodluck Jonathan what no one would contemplate with him as president.

Senator Iyabo Obasanjo in a letter to her father accused him of having an egoistic craving for power and living a life where only men of low esteem and intellect thrive.

Yes we can all see.
From Lagos to Lokoja, and from Sapele to Sokoto, passing through Ibadan and Ilorin. It is the same ebiNpawa cry of extreme poverty, jobless masses trapped in Stockholm syndrome affliction.

It is terribly tragic that we allowed APC to scam us with change when all they had in mind was shege pains.

(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.

Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?

Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?

Your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those they should kill! Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion Leaders read, understand & digest.

Why replying Atiku? With all his wealth what did he to Adamawa children, not even a small center or a borehole

Imagine claiming he will fight corruption- CORRUPTION PERSONIFIED

What did he do as a vp. Sold all Nigerian assets to himself and cronies at give away price. Those assets were dismantle and sold as spare parts. No value to our economy

This is major reason behind devaluation of Naira and unemployment. We have to import everything .

You were probably too young to realize some of the mess being cleaned were created by Obasanjo and Atiku.

Why couldn't Obasanjo and Atiku fix refineries?

Why couldn't they build rail to connect all our major cities?

Why didn't they improve our educational sector?

Obasanjo and Atiku had the golden opportunities to build a solid foundation for democracy. They instead engaged in laying foundation for electoral heist, economic terrorism, proliferation of over-expensive private universities, dollarization of our economy, using funds for development to do debt forgiveness, third term agenda, killing NITEL and plunging Nigerians into unemployment, buying properties in the US, selling government assets to cronies, persecution of political enemies and subsidizing the rich.

What Tinubu is doing now is building structures for the long term, which is the ingredient of a visionary leader. If Atiku and Obi were so visionary, what did they accomplish for the states they governed or the nation they co-led?
