Car usage do matter for real and ehailling may ruin your car pending on your driving ability and places you choose to go. The most important factor here is understanding you can’t have it all. Back to economics of fixed and variable costs. You know the function of machine input, the question should be how you maintain it and if they brings any returns. Those guys leaning tech today buy laptop as far as millions. People in block industries or pure water, buy trucks and factor fixing into it. So please don’t compare your car to private. That’s your office and headquarter… the basic thing is growth. Exit when necessary. Foreign folks do this a lot… they know when to enter and leave a business. Zain, econet, buddies and co.

When you talk about car in USA, it’s like pure water. Nigerians don’t have sense, sorry to say. I have been following the argument here and I am just laughing. Aside usa, do UK or China, Japan use fancy cars like Nigeria? The essence of car is to make life easier, but nah for this country you go see person wey go take loan to buy Benz. Take a look at their housing mortgage system. Th system and insurance make things easy for them. Cars in USA is like times 3 here, if not more. Accident happens anyhow and their insurance companies are there for them, tho they may pay thro their noise, but they have a good system.

The engine of my car is 400. Half engine 250… how mucg did Xghost post again? I know we are apprehensive about tomorrow, because we don’t know what bala blu is up too, that attitude of always complaining is not the answer boss. We need to find way to always beat the odds as well.
I have read your epistles sir, I get your points but let's not shy away from saying the truth.
Anywhere you are cars like u said are machines and they depreciate with time and may fall apart faster if they enter the wrong hands.
So I was surprised when they said using car frequently won't affect it in any way, that's a big lie and misleading.
The more the usage the more it's depreciating, you can only prolong the lifespan if you do the necessary things that needs to be done promptly,
Ehailing is car wrecker!
You can only help ur car if you're good in maintenance, but then you will spend.

A newbie would pay 40 or 50k weekly after collecting the car. If he can't do that and have some in his pocket maybe he should apply himself elsewhere

Someone said it here, the major issue many people have is the general perception Nigerians have of blue collar work. Your mechanics, carpenters, plumbers, drivers etc. are generally looked down on so on one hand I understand where folks here get their attitude.

However it behoves you to rise above such shortsightedness and see the big picture. From conversations here some would rather a 300k salary than 500k driving bolt. If that's what floats your raft, it's great too but you must forgive me for thinking different and you must accept that it's ok too.

You and I don't drive the same car, we don't use the same app, heck, we aren't even in the same city but you want me to have an opinion in your affairs? HOW?
when I post here, I state it clearly that it's Uber, because I can't speak on bolt or indrive, I no de use them so I no fit talk about them.

Same goes for everything else. It's ok to say "I don't know enough about abc" or say "in my opinion". You can't be making categorical statements about what's happening in my own neck of the woods, you're either delusional or schizophrenic.

Uncle Tojahh. It's common sense. Every engine no matter how careful you maintain it has a lifespan. The more you drive, the faster you reach the lifespan. This is especially so for high mileage cars imported into the country.

Apart from that, vehicles used on ehailing have a tendency of being abused. That's the reason the great and late gazzuzz will not go near a vehicle that has been previously used on ehaling when sourcing for cars for his clients.
Well said. The great Gazzuzz would not even go near ehaling cars for repairs.

Awesome to see you here again bro. Trust you good.

This up there has always been my line of argument.
There is was money in ehailing, but the running cost takes a large chunk of the money

It has gotten to the point where calculator should be added to the work tools of a driver cos for every trip you take, it needs to be well calculated if not na loss dey wait for you for front

These days every movement with the car needs to be paid for. if you get personal waka, you have to pray you see a trip towards that area unless your fuel don short and you may end up hustling just the money you spent on fuel with nothing ontop

Ehailing made it worse, Suzuki, Yaris, city, corolla, civic, Kia Rio, Micras all have the same fare with Camry, accord, sonata and they expect the owners of the big engines to smile, not convert trips to offline, sell their cars and buy a smaller one et al.

The truth is no matter how you claim to love driving, when you start, nigga you go loose the zeal over time

For now I work only when there's surge and when there isn't I don't bother myself cos I know say na suffer head
at the bolded is a very valid point to be considered, if a person wants to get a car solely for e-hailing, there is no point buying a state of the art car that would tear pockets.
my advice before the surge in prices of cars has always been to buy a car not more than 1million and tune up to about 200k, this would enable driver recoup capital quickly and make profit also.
choice of car also is another critical aspect to consider in this business due to the cost of parts. i remember buying tokumbo shocks for my car 5k-7k, lower arm was around 3k-4k, shaft was 5k, hub 7k etc.
my car shares the same part with passat and Volkswagen

In everything you apply your energies to, if you don't have the right attitude, forget it. Without contentment, forget it too. You'll always be looking at the next man thinking "oh, they're doing better than me, oh, that should be me".

Every week I map out what I need to do and I work towards it. Nothing concern me with another man own.

When they say oya pay so and so or family say we De contribute 1 naira for this or that I stand well, that's what's most important.

I was in Accra sometime last year for a small break, na all those small small hatchback guys de use run the hustle in that place. In all the rides we took only one Suzuki espresso guy use AC and only 1 was a Corolla. They have all manner of hatchbacks there, some models I'd never seen or heard of

Exactly! This is why I said let me kuku agree with Kanuisagoat the last time. Gazzuzz wouldn't touch an ehail car because he always keep it close to his heat that you can't pay for EOM parts not to talk of using original oil to service. He will advise you, as far as you're using it for ehail, don't use expensive parts because of it fails, you might not have recouped your money. And na true. Who go buy ordinary fan belt EOM for 65k here and use the belt for ehail?

For Civic, he complained there's almost no space in the engine bay for mechanics to actually work on it comfortably.

Na person wey dey repair my car when I dey use Honda City 2006 in 2017.

This is something drivers also need to understand. Pacing themselves. Take breaks between trips and take at least 1 day off completely. Some days you have a hot hand, you may wish to push more but also be wise with trip selection.
CHOP THAT BONUS, I can't stress this enough, stop leaving money on the table.
