IZUKWU:The decision to leak this information at this stage of the season tells me there is a lot going on inside because this was supposed to be towards the end of the season. Him and Arteta wan ruin the club with some useless transfers since they both came on board. Our scouting stagnated and collapsed under Edu. He tried for Arteta if that is a positive because he got him everything he needed and supported Arteta in not filling needed back up positions but it’s time to find someone who can push back on Arteta. I mean, I just look at our attacking options today and I am ok with his departure. We needed a Saka back up and it took the last day or there about to sign a useless Sterling that flopped in Chelsea. For a club trying to win the league this season, we got Merino, I don’t care if that is Arteta’s wish, we needed someone better at least that can help NOW! How about Goalkeeping? Why the hell did we get Neto? We are burning money on defenders every season yet we are short upfront. Hopefully, this ends the useless obsession Chelsea and Brazilian scraps. I don’t really care about this departure to be honest, we are not exactly losing an irreplaceable here. Him and Arteta used Arsenal as internship for their respective positions and we are paying dearly for it now. Go find someone who who understands the issues of the club and can fix them through recruitment. Not someone who panders to Arteta in squad building and by midseason, 2/3 of the team is looking poor because of 1-2 injuries. Good radiance but I wish him all the best post NYSC, we have tried for him. I understand he trying working to secure a CEO job with another club which is more pay and control over a club than his current position. |

iamoyindamola:Many people think they are doing it us a favor or it is a volunteering job while it is the reverse. It is a high paying job that comes with responsibilities. Arteta is the 2nd highest paid manager, only behind Pep. When Pep leaves at the end of the season, Arteta will become the highest payed and longest tenured manager. Edu will use this NYSC to get a higher paying job with a mid level team as CEO somewhere. We don try! |

Lol We wanted loyalty. But these ones, like Kroenkes, are businessmen, loyal just to their desires and pocket. Who go help Arsenal sef. If i had my way, I'll put an embargo on signing from rivals like Chelsea. It's irritating at this rate. Instead pf sourcing for better talents, we're using the excuse of 'experience' to get mediocrity. I suppose test both the temperature and IQ of anyone that believed Sterling will come good for us. Makes me doubt if you've been observing since Wenger final days till now. The threshold for recruitment needs to be upgraded. I hear Edu wants to get the CEO spot hence he stepping down now. Overall, i hope this stepdown is not a hole in the boat move or a brickwall to signing anything in January sha. |

iamoyindamola:Someone opined that he has bias towards players signed and even if they don't click, he'll keep playing them even if it will take 200games. Meanwhile, he has players that are ready, clicky and desperate to die for this club, on the bench. Anyways I've always held this internship move due to the stubbornness of last season and the way rotation was handled. He go kon go Barca one day and probably win stuff and the bants on Arsenal will triple. Naaah. I pray this isn't the case. |

iamoyindamola:😂😂😂😂😂 What if the ego increases and he wins? That's what I'm trying to pass since na 😂😂 Unimaginable even to myself but not impossible. We've seen this stuff across clubs. And you know media. Hence my 50-50 for that scenario. E go pain!!! |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 4:20pm On Nov 04, 2024 |
daveP:The Emery example is not applicable in this instance. Emery was vastly experienced before he went to PSG. He had extensive experience competing in La Liga and won 3 Europa League titles with Sevilla. He was no rookie or intern. There is a reason Barca moved on from a favored son in Xavi for Hansi. For the size of their club, and their ambition, they knew Xavi had taken them as far as his experience and abilities could. 6 years into it, now into his 7th, I am sorry I don’t see it in Arteta, for the size of this club. I am not part of those who hold on to mediocrity because of fear, I saw it from day 1, his supporters say I hate him. He is who he is at this point. Learning under Pep doesn’t automatically make you Pep, if anything he has morphed into someone who learnt under Mourinho. Sometimes too, the locker room needs a new voice. He has to turn this season around, he has no choice. It would be bad for his resume if he gets fired at Arsenal. |

IZUKWU:If we really wanted Gyokeres we would have gotten him bro. When the deal collapsed I read about talks from Edu about buying players that choose the club and stuff like that. So I guess he really didn't want to sign him. |

Winning games no matter which opponent and time in the season is essential but being proactive during the second part matters a lot, that's how City have always been doing it. I just hope we continue winning, move on, win as much as we can(cus surely there are still games we won't win), and put pressure on that title challenge. To be honest I expected a striker and saka deputy during last summer, but since we didn't get any we should focus on our players available and stop this cry for striker each time we drop points. It's not as if the striker will be scoring in every game even if we have one. Odegaard absence limits Kai output and our left attack haven't been prolific as before, plus our defence being touchy these days. Title challenge still dey very open so I'm still optimistic not because of any individual but because I really want that epl more than any other trophy. Ps: ethan as a 10 made more since than whatever Trossard can offer there. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 1:35pm On Nov 05, 2024 |
germaphobe:Fact is if na only us dey this league table, we can survive with the players available. But our rivals are uping the ante, doing all it takes to step up. Lets assume we are on a 11.2 high and spurs be like 5.4 before. Spurs kon upgrade to say 8.3 and are planning by January to be above 12, while we are upgrading by 0.4 instead of 3.0, in no time, no matter how we love the players, all their best efforts will be seen as average if we continue to be bested by others that we continue to think are no better. We need recruitment for the front. Now our manager dey do like he no sabi use counterattack again despite having just the perfect players for such a setup. He should be flexible. That's all we ask. Flexible and increase front deputies or players that will walk straight in. Im glad you said we need to win no matter what. Others are showing that why can't we? I am scared though... Cos of these departures

iamoyindamola:He don make relationship official sha ![]() I hope this is the end of Partey at RB sha. Chelsea's nightmare is back. And now Palmer will get his 1st rodeo vs Arsenal. 5-0 still fresh for head. Man U need help. The way they conceded that midfield to Chelsea ehn. Wetin sef. Can never be Arsenal. My own satisfaction is a clean sheet on Sunday. Raya just dey colet since 4th week. Kilode. |

White and Timber are back and Partey have found his form again so definitely his place in midfield can't be questioned. Seems like we will see Odegaard, Partey and Merino tomorrow cus Rice isn't available. |
