Good afternoon, Nairaland. My wife bought baby food—a processed soya bean—from a store here in Abuja, where we live. For the past six days, our 4-month-old baby has been eating it. Today, my baby started throwing up, and when I checked the packaging, I noticed it expired in July 2024. I don’t want this issue to be ignored. What can I do?

After u are double sure your baby is fine then u can take that baby food n reciept to nafdac or son or anywhere n let them take it up from there

When dealing with infants we got to be careful. They can't even explain where they are feeling uncomfortable.

A 4 month old should still be breastfeeding. Tuck away the semi-solids for now. Breast is the best.

It's your fault for not checking expiry date of an item when you picked it up in the store.

Go back to that store asif you want to buy same soya food and check the expire date if it is the same you will know what to do next

When e never happen to you to give advice and throw blames they always dey easy.people just throwing blames at op wife, the shop owners are they suppose to leave an expired product on their shelf and sale same to customers knowing full well it's not fit for consumption anymore?

Mistake has been made already, I won't blame your wife just yet, it may have escaped her mind not to check expiry date, no body dey perfect, it when things like this happen people will be claiming to know it all that they never make such mistakes, after making sure your baby is good and okay.

lawyer up and sue both the shop and the company, don't take this for granted, demand 10 billion as damages and compensation, las las mediation and plea u will be settled in millions, this is a little baby life we talking about, don't joke

That's what you supposed to check first,the expiring date.

I even used QR code to check the authenticity of my baby diaper,if I noticed anything rashes or skin change.
