That's rubbish... Instead let's use the winner must have 50% else the top 2 have a rerun so we would never have minority president like Tinubu
All this wont help.

What we need is independent candidateship. Where we can boycott political parties that dont fill in the right candidates, electorates will have the will to f.ck them all up by voting a nonpartisan candidate.

With political parties, electorates have no choice and are often given an option between the Devil and the deep blue sea.

We the yoruba Muslims congratulate Donald Trump.

We are certain that Trump will depart all Biafrans back to Biafra land.

Our support for Trump has led to his victory.

Yorubas gave Trump over 136 Elevtoral college votes.

Trump will appoint a Yoruba as the Secretary of state.

This We are certain

Gid bless Trump

God bless Yorubas.

Should we introduce the US kind of electoral college to Nigeria?

Share for YES

like for NO
It's not a good system where individual's votes are not equal.

Citizens vote should have the same weight and value irrespective of where they come from.

Though Trump has taken the popular votes and is on course to win the electoral votes, it is actually not a done deal. The electoral college votes in December and anything can still happen, however unlikely that may seem.

How can you assume it doesn't help? This is most democracies work

U want independent candidate so someone can win with 5% votes?

Majority should elect their president that's the basis of democracies

100 people can contest.. Of one person get 50% he is sworn in

If not the two top candidates compete one must get 50%

How u found fault in this is beyond me

You claimed the system only supports the white so I proved otherwise to do.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has won the election also cos the electoral votes needed by Harris currently is higher than the remaining uncalled electoral votes
Obama is more white than most white even

That's what we need in Nigeria actually to checkmate the issue of a certain region feeling they have complete dominance in the electoral system.
Our college should have equal number of votes between North n south. Then each state should have a certain college weight based on their population and representation. That way, no region will be sidelined during the campaign period

How can someone win with 5 votes?

How can someone also win with 50%. That means rerun after rerun after rerun. The longer it takes, the more violence and electoral malpractice.

I'd rather you say we do electoral college like the US, but one thing is sure, political parties are also the reason we cannot get good leaders.

How is it in our democracy? Isn't it the majority?

Do you even understand math. What is the probability of 100 contestants and 1 person has 50% of total votes? The election will run inconclusive. What if the NW, NE and NC give one person 50%, and they continue to do it every 4 yrs, it will be very wrong.

Bros you said their should be independent candidate... I said if you have independent candidate there is a theoretical chance someone can be President with 5% votes... If say 1000 people contest

The idea of 50% doesn't even eliminate independent candidate

Just that first two candidate with highest votes qualify for round 2 where only the two contest
If two people contest one must have 50% and be declared winner

How is this hard to get
