No fewer than two persons and forty donkeys were killed in a fatal motor accident at Shiwarin town in Kiyawa local Government, Jigawa State.

This was confirmed by the spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam in a statement issued to DAILY POST.

According to the statement, “the incident happened when a motor vehicle, Daf, with reg no. NGU 498 XA driven by one Mohd Hassan of Potiskum LGA, Yobe, loaded with 100 donkeys and passengers on board, and on reaching Shuwarin town, the driver lost control of the vehicle and fell down.

“Two people and forty donkeys died.”

He said two of the passengers died on the spot, including Innani Abubakar and Kalifa Adamu, all of Potiskum.

The driver sustained serious injury and lost his left hand and was transferred to AKTH Kano for treatment.
