None of these projects like Awka mall, Ekwulobia flyover, New government house etc will be completed this year. It shows money is tight and Soludo needs to borrow

The dualisation of Awka-Agulu-Ekwulobia-Uga Road, a key infrastructure project initiated by Gov. Soludo, is progressing at an impressive pace.

Let me once again congratulate our governor Soludo on awarding the dualization of Agulu/Nnewi/Okija road. Not only has he awarded the contract, but the contractor has started working on the project!. I must say that I am impressed! However, Ndigbo have a lot of work to do to catch up with the rest of the country in terms of basic infrastructure! The projects already delivered have changed the face of Awka but Onitsha is still looking quite ramshackle, especially the Niger bridge head entry point.................some palliative work has been done on Onitsha / Owerri road but the environment smacks of disorganization and bedlam! The environment commissioner is trying but he needs to be a very creative and innovative person to succeed in a place like Onitsha. Kudos again to Soludo!
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by ebufa: 2:49pm On Nov 05, 2024
Once again I thank Soludo for restoring a measure of public confidence in his ability to take Anambra to Dubai status, I am even more impressed that he has not taken any of that nauseating jamboree abroad to look for elusive foreign investors, he has been stellar in managing the lean funds available to him, as far as I know he has not taken any heavy loans! The video below is the marina district in Cotonou, republic du Benin, this is one of the posh districts where the wealthy live! we can replicate this standard in GRA Onitsha et al!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vWXECrrEx4

Soludo must care for Anambra's young and wealthy local investors LIVING in ANAMBRA! especially those living in GRA, Nkisi, and adjoining estates around Onitsha and Awka! the roads in GRA and these estates are crying for urgent attention! The brain drain and capital flight going on must be addressed intentionally and holistically! Soludo tried in okpoko , It is time to address the infra-structural needs of Ndi Odogwu in our midst.........the capital in their hands is mind-boggling!

He has so much work to do there.

Owerri is a dirty slum without a commissioner of environment that’s why most imo indigenes are running out of Owerri and escaping to greener pastures of Onitsha, Lagos etc. Today Owerri is an abandoned dirty ghetto. Ozodimgba should wake up.

Thank you

The dreaded Niger River floods are with us again, nobody is even reporting the flooding in parts of Anambra state this year! The inhabitants of the affected areas are our people, we need to start thinking of effective and sustainable solutions to these natural occurrences! We have geographers and civil engineers in Igboland who can proffer workable solutions. I am neither but I have seen levees or setback levees in parts of New Orleans that protect the city from flooding! we can use dredged sand from the Anambra and Niger rivers to build a semi-circular setback levee and canals to protect towns like Mmiata, ogbaru etc,

If you notice the road built by Soludo was not flooded, all we need to do is pretend we are building a road on the outskirts of the affected towns. This time, we make the earth embankments at least 2 meters higher and just enclose the towns from flooding. Excess water may be channeled away by canalization into the interior to irrigate farmlands! that's my layman's suggestion anyway..........we cannot fold our hands and pretend the problem does not exist........let us challenge OURSELVES!

New Orleans is below sea level which is a different issue. For Anambra flooding results either because of the River Niger overflowing into it's drainage basin or because of building on top of swamps which is natures natural drainage or poor man made drainage systems.

Anambra which is highly urbanized needs to do more sophisticated water management. Cities should have integrated underground drainage systems and direct storm and waste water to man made reservoirs where they can be treated and returned to buildings as piped water or used for irrigation or farming.

For places lying within the river basin, they should be marked free from buildings and all relocated away from it. Ogbaru, Atani, Otuocha for example.

Water especially fresh water is a massive resource that should be controlled, managed and utilized for economic purposes. Aquaculture, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality use heaps of water.

That is the essence of engineering...........block the excesses of nature and enhance its attributes? My own is let government not sit around and do nothing, while our people suffer! Some parts of those towns may have to go but I believe over 90% can be protected by well designed dike and levee system...........this is a river not even an ocean....!

Slowudo has abandoned it like that. He has been fencing the one plot keke terminal for like 4 months now, eye-servicing ndi aguata with it.

Forget the fly-over it has been abandoned at pillar level for like 6 months now. The mediocre governor is playing ping-pong with Ndi-Anambra.

Nobody is ganging up against Anambra. Obi, Ngige and Obiano all did well, we can see what they did. Anambra is good, thanks to these guys but Soludo has not been contributing his quota efficiently.
The question which you are running away from is simple "what's Soludo doing?" obviously almost nothing.
Go to Soludo's Twitter page, even the good people of anambra are disappointed in him. Are you more Anambra than everyone?
You want to keep defending a shitty governor because you are too emotional about Anambra and its making you lose your sense of reasoning.
Stop being overly emotional, we all want Anambra to grow, it will be our joy to see that Anambra, a part of Igboland is growing. You are the problem, you want us to defend Soludo irrespective and that's not cool.

We are not going to say that Soludo is doing well just to save face and make you happy dude, Igbo people don't behave like that. We igbos are straightforward and we call a spade what it is irrespective of who gets hurt. No Igbo person defended Ikpeazu, no one is defending Uzodinma so why do you want us to defend a shitty Soludo. Won't it be my Joy to see Onitsha very developed and use it to brag to Yoruba people in Lagos?

Soludo no dey try, because we love Anambra, we want you people to kick him out in the next election.
Who remember this post then?? Those guys have all disappeared

Prof Charles Soludo shut them up with projects

Our leaders are cursed with the spirit of OPEN GUTTERS. Even in an airport environment?
Chinike nna!!! What is thishuh

The state government should plant grasses to a good length from where the road hits the kerb and then canopy trees should dot the grassed areas at every ten meters or so. This is to prevent the red sand from being blown onto the road by air. This will improve the aesthetics of the airport road environment.

Simple things that a village illiterate should know how to do is what these politicians find Difficult to brainstorm. Tufiakwa!!!

In many developing countries, including Nigeria, open drainage channels work better than closed ones. Drainage channels are like big gutters on the sides of roads. They carry away rainwater to keep roads from flooding. Open drainage channels are left uncovered, so you can see inside, while closed drainage channels are covered up, like pipes.

People on social media sometimes make jokes about open drainage channels, saying they look bad. But they can actually be very helpful! For example, in places like Lagos, when they tried building closed drainage channels a long time ago, they all ended up getting clogged. These channels got blocked because sand, trash, and other things kept piling up in them. Without a way to clean them, water couldn’t flow properly, and it just created more problems. Go to Onitsha-Owerri road at nwa Aziki junction and see how the closed drainage channels built by CCC have been blocked with no way of getting inside to desilt it. The result is that every rainy season, that area collapses due to heavy flood on the roads.

One of the big issues is that many roads in these areas aren’t paved, so sand and dirt from these roads get washed into the drains. Plus, some people still throw trash on the streets, which clogs the drains too. In countries like America, people don’t throw trash on the streets, so closed drainage works better there. But in places where trash and sand can easily get into the drains, open drainage channels make it easier to clean them out and keep water flowing.

In short, open drainage channels help us deal with the trash and dirt that often end up in the drains, so we can keep the water moving and prevent floods more easily!

What you have explained above is not an excuse to continue having open drainage. I live in an African country that is so poor. Yet this very country manages to build covered drainages. Covered drainages does not mean that it cannot be opened and desilted. There are slabs used to cover the drainage in such s way that the slabs can be disassembled and the dirt excavated.
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by 0bjpmb:
Shut up your dirty mouth. You ediots always remember open gutter when it concerns Anambra. There are more open gutters in Enugu, imo, abia and ebonyi open gutter more than Anambra but no one has ever seen you condemn it, but once it is Anambra, you ediots will jump out of the wood works to post nonsense. Whenever you basstards had nothing to condemn due to envy and bitterness, you look for something to pin on. Awka millennium city is the only place in Igboland that has 100% covered drainages and walkways. Just get out of this place if you have nothing reasonable to post.
