Republicans and Trump supporters have taken over social media. Republicans have never been this bold. Even when Trump was first elected President, Dems where manhandling Republicans on social media platforms, but it's the opposite this time around. Fvck around and find out indeed. cheesy

Most of our food come from the middle belt actually and the farms in Borno and Yobe state have been abandoned. You cant have consistent terrorism of over a decade and not affect your population. People will move out, new people will refuse to move in
I made mention of the north in general meaning North West, North East and North Central. There is insurgency in almost all the parts of the north but the insurgency has not killed people at that exaggerated rate you are projecting. If u juxtapose the tens of thousands that have died due to terrorism side by side with the number of births in the north over that same period, u will see that surely insurgency didn't touch population growth down the north at all.

You think people are not fleeing Zamfara, Kebbi Yobe Borno where terrorism is the order of the day? Or do you think people are moving into those states like the normal stable state
Just look at what I was telling u few minutes ago:

The survivor noted that these attacks have plagued their communities for nearly nine years, driving many residents to seek refuge in Gusau and other areas. “There are no animals here anymore,” he lamented. “Once night falls, everyone is filled with dread, as staying in these communities overnight has become extremely dangerous.”
The attack of bandits has plagued the communities for 9 years, but you still have people living in that community. The residents who cannot put up with the incessant attacks only moved to more secure areas like Gusau. They didn't necessarily flee the state like you are positing.

At the height of Boko haram in Maiduguri, Univeristy of Maiduguri was not even shut down; people were carrying on with their lives. At the height of Boko Haram in Adamawa , Atiku's university in Yola didn't shut down. Even Yobe state sef, loads and loads of food trailers continue to pour down south from Potiskum.

That will be determined by where is closer
Its not like there is a wall stopping them from moving to Gusau and not to Sokoto or Kebbi if those places are closer. If you face terrorism in Alagbado you are likely to enter Sango Otta in Ogun state which is closer than move within Lagos state to say Gbagada

My point is those states are usually very big down north, so if something happens in a remote part, they basically just move to a more secured part of the state not necessarily abandon the state like that. That makes ur point about people emigrating in mass out of those states a very moot point. At the height of boko haram sef, IDP camps are located within the states not outside of them.

You may not be paying attention or maybe you live in a special part of Lagos. There is a mass exodus of middleclass northerners to lagos over the last 10 years. It is very obvious if you are a parent as the number of hijab wearing girls in schools keeps increasing.

I’m yet to notice any mass exodus of middle class northern families in Lagos .

Which parts of Lagos are they moving to ? Is it Yaba, Ikeja , Ikorodu, Oshodi, Bariga , Gbagada, Ifako Ijaiye, Lekki , Isale Eko or where exactly ?

I know quite a handful of teachers in government schools and none of them had mentioned any sudden increase in the number of northern students getting enrolled in their respective schools
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 6:15pm On Nov 06, 2024
Probably 30-35% say 35-40 million people here and there.

The politics of falsely increasing your population numbers is fast losing its usefulness if it cannot feed people adequately. What's the point claiming high numbers that won't guarantee you enough resources to feed your people instead of being productive enough that will make it possible to take care of your citizenry?

Lagos as much as they receive extra FAAC allocation if they depended solely on it won't be able to meet recurrent expenditure let alone have enough for capital projects. States like Bayelsa and Delta that receive way may more and have only 10% and 40% respectively of Lagos budget are performing way worse. Kano may or may not have bumped up their numbers to gain extra dough but are they anyway better than Ogun that receives the least FAAC and has way less population numbers? I reckon the design to raise population numbers isn't so desirable like that again cause the benefits are miniscule if any.

raumdeuter:
If you say our population is exaggerated, then to what degree? When you are tying election power, amount received from National purse and other benefits to population, you can see that it will induce falsifying numbers
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 6:17pm On Nov 06, 2024
I thought the bold was just down to a good number of Yoruba muslims who are more fervent in their faith like the MURIC crew.

Who told you they are claiming more population and more allocation to be better? Its for the politicians to have more to steal

If you are 3m but claiming 6m and getting allocation for a 6M state, That is more money for the politicians to steal

So if you are saying we inflated by 30%, meaning we are only 70% of the 230M which puts us around 160M. I say thats fair and close to 150M which i think is about right

Have you seen an increase in Okada riders though and Hausas generally all over the country?

All those bandits, some of them were displaced people who left those crisis places and resorted to crime

At best they're a handful, federal government employees and the handful in the private sector... certainly not enough to create a dent in overall population up north.

I enter line around 6:50P but did not actually vote until 10:02P. I was thoroughly impressed by the turnout and Democracy won at the end of the day. It was the right result that reflects the sentiments of the majority.

Middle class Northerner go leave KMC, ABJ, KD and move to Lagos that's culturally alien to him? Nothing wey Amoto no go read for NL?
The hijab wearing females in Lagos schools are mainly people from SW who are religiously conscious and partly Northerners resident in Lagos

Okada riders don’t move their families ; they come to hustle in Lagos and keep their families back home. They go home regularly to check on their family and bring to life more children whom they raise in the north .

I do engage some of these okada riders , we Dey send dem message well well and we Dey follow them talk . That’s how I know most of them have wives and kids back home

It’s surprising to me too because I don’t see how a middle class northerner will voluntarily leave the north and start trying to acclimatize with the cultural shock that comes with moving down south .

Even when I was in university we have south western Muslims who don’t play with their hijabs .! So seeing more females wearing hijab doesn’t necessarily mean northerners are migrating .

In fact , I have a feeling that more Muslim ladies in the south are embracing head covering . I know girls who didn’t cover their heads in 100l but became hijab sisters before graduation . To me, I see it more like Christian ladies saying they are now born again, stopped wearing trousers and earrings.

You do not live in lagos. I do. It is particularly glaring because my children go to two different schools. Go to pick up your children at close of school and you will be able to see for yourself.

I have been using one of the schools for 14 years three of my kids passed through it. And I can see the different parents. Two years ago the I started seeing hijabs on primary school kids in the school. It wa funny because the propreitress na konk su - but then again business is business.

It is particularly glaring because they behave like your typical conservative Muslim - running away from issues at home and then stirring up the same issues in their new location. My daughter has a friend from one of these Transferred northern Muslims and when she visited the friends house the mother immediately started harassing her for not wearing hijab. So yes they are here and yes they are bringing in their culture.

In your kaduna and kano the almajiri turned bandits are kidnapping, holding and gang raping civilians at will. Same is happening in kogi with herdsmen. So people are running down to the south with its fake Muslims and relative safety. The south does not have an almajiri to bandit pipeline to worry about. It is really that simple. They are literally buying up houses and driving up costs.

Precisely. You are making my point

That is the difference between Yoruba muslims and northern Muslims. Most middle class Yoruba Muslim girls grow into the religion in university. They do not grow up in homes where they are expected or pushed to start wearing hijab from 5 years or earlier.

You are not saying anything new because I saw the exact same thing in uni.

That some middleclass Northerners are making that North-South migration does not mean it's being done in sufficient enough numbers to make a dent in the population dynamics up North, and that's the point, if it was that obvious, we sef for don notice am.

If you said lower income Northerners there might be an argument there, cause I've noticed increased numbers myself, but this middle and upper middle class Northerners, I doubt, plus how many dem be sef wey dey that demographic.
