Are u sure u are not too lenient with her on this? How are u correcting her? My friend son of 3 yrs old started urinating on his body, the wife had to beat the boy, the boy really cried, but ever since then he stopped. Maybe u should apply a little bit of harshness in correcting her before taking her to a doctor.

Nothing is wrong with your daughter. Mine at three behaved like that, I had to reduce the amount of time she spent watching cartoon, and that stopped it. Trust me nothing is wrong with your daughter.

Reassured her of family love despite the arrival of new addition.

Reduce her tv or cartoon time. Infact use it as a tool, like promise her more tv time or gifts if she stops pooing on herself.

Op, take the kid to see a doctor as soon as you possibly can. My first traumatic experience in life happened when I was just 3.5 years of age and that was the day before my kid brother was born. My life was devastated by that one experience and it wasn't until some time ago that those scars were finally resolved for me. The worst you can do is attempt to trivialize this or pretend it is of phantoms.

Be at peace as nothing is WRONG with your daughter. She is just doing that because she can do so with no consequence.

Use the Carrot and Stick Approach with her over a few weeks to cure her.
Examples
1. Carrot:
Every 30 minutes, check up on her and praise her to the high heavens or reward her (with small things) or promise something if for two days straight for not pooing or "wee weeing" on her body. Promises should be for a day of compliance, to two days to one week etc

2. Stick:
Make her clean up the mess. Make her use her hands to wash her soiled clothes or deny her TV for two days or spank her bum bum.

You know your child. At last, the behaviour will stop. How many times have you seen a 10 year old excrete on their bodies?
It seldom happens, so don't be paranoid!

You are talking to a 3-year-old. God forbid, but do you know if any of her parents die, she may not have any vivid memories of either of you in the next 4 years? That is how underdeveloped her reasoning faculties are. She is engrossed in the things she is watching and so suppressed the urge to get up and relief herself. Spank her well, soon she would associate not standing up to defecate would result in pain, all humans hate pain and so she would start to change. You are not doing her any good by not disciplining her at this stage.

Send her to the bathroom to go use the toilet at different intervals whether or not she feels like it, By this she will learn the habit of going to the toilet to pee or poo when feeling pressed. she now know where and how to ease her self.

It could be as innocent as her wanting the care and attention of the baby.

But it could also be more serious. This behavior can be a sign of abuse. Carefully review who she has been around.

If it's just about attention, then give her confidence that you love her just as much as the baby. Maybe find time just for you and her to play and talk. Also, explain to her how she's a big girl now, and she shouldn't do that.

These are signs of negligence, you are spending less time with her, reduce her screen time, spend more time with her. Remind her to use the restroom when she is watching TV or doing any activities. Her mother is probably busy with the new born, she also need to spend time with her. Inform your wife to spend time her daughter as well.

Ask if she's being molested? Be tactical about it? Abuse can trigger such behavior.

When I was a boarder in secondary school, there was this teenage boy who came from a public school in England. The challenge of settling in into the new school and some bullying made him start bedwetting. He was overwhelmed by it.

Many kids may start bedwetting when they have a step parent.

My cousin who used to come visiting every long vac all of a sudden starting bed wetting. He used to sleep in my mum's room.

It was the arrival of a stepfather who used to maltreat him was the root cause.
