It only happened occasionally that she would pee on herself. Usually when engrossed in cartoon.

She would even poo on herself!

I've talked to her, yet no serious change.
I just had a baby boy few weeks ago. Could this be responsible for the change in my daughter? If yes, how best can it be handled? It's already affecting her in school.

They toddlers do pee or poo anyhow at dat age but ONLY when sleeping.

It is perfectly okay for a children to pee or boo on themselves. No child is the same. Just because A child stop doing those early doesn't mean child B will do the same.
You can also help her by reminding her often. Tell the teachers to do the same. It's not a big deal.

Some kids relaspse after potty training. Nothing to be worried about. Could be due to reasons such as prolong exposure to screen time, similar behaviour in her school or environment, playfulness and hyperactivity which makes them forget they need to use the toilet or potty.

You only need to reinforce the potty training but this time making sure some form of punishment is delivered for careless or carefree potty attitudes.
Reward also if they use it correctly (clapping, praise or encouragement is appropriate here).
You need to do this yourself anytime you can and not leave it for maids (excerpt the ones trained or experience in managing kids) if you want to get speedy results.

.she's throwing tantrum.. that's how i behaved also when my mom gave birth to my immediate junior brother but i was one then.

My son would be 4 years mid next year and we are experiencing same issue.

We also have a 9 month old.

We noticed recently, he comes home wearing a different cloth from what he wore to school. When my wife checked, it smells of pee. We were very very shocked. When he got home, we changed him into his house clothes and in a matter of an hour, he peed again. We noticed he refused to use the bathroom when pressed. Even when you ask him if he is pressed, he will always deny it because he is engrossed in whatever he was doing.

Today, we observed him holding his crotch and asked him to use the bathroom immediately. He ran there and before he could completely take off his pant, he peed mostly on the floor.

For now, we have calmly cautioned and lovingly advised him but if it continues, we may need to spank him.

Disregard all those religious bigots and know that kids get engrossed to things like that.
Firstly, my son was introduced at a very early age to cartoons and I must tell you, he was smarter than most kids in his class when he eventually got into school.
Secondly, there's no spiritual implications to this as kids will be kids.
I advise that you stop listening to stupid people and take proactive steps to help the kid.
Try establish a routine with her toilet times whether she wants to use or not.
You could try say 3 hourly and if accidents still happen, reduce the time till you get the effective time interval.
If possible, get cartoons that encourage toilet times and other personal hygiene routines.

Op, take the kid to see a doctor as soon as you possibly can. My first traumatic experience in life happened when I was just 3.5 years of age and that was the day before my kid brother was born. My life was devastated by that one experience and it wasn't until some time ago that those scars were finally resolved for me. The worst you can do is attempt to trivialize this or pretend it is of phantoms.

This phenomenon is called regression.
A major cause is a new sibling at home.
All she needs is psychological support.

Where do you folks get these ideas from? My one niece was potty trained before age 2 and she learned well because she never has a problem with such after that. She too loved watching cartoons all day and we let her by age 3, indulge in as much PBS shows as she loved. undecided

Other kids I know were also potty trained early but aside from accidents here and there, they never experienced anything close to that described by the OP of her kid literally peeing and pooping on herself while watching cartoons. So where do you get off claiming that nonsense happens to almost all kids? undecided

You need to keep reminding her to go and pee every one hour

You also have to train her on potty training, first thing in the morning if you have the time, though is always challenging or last thing in the night, which is always the best

Children can develop any habit so keep watching her and help her grow properly

She requires your attention. You're spending more time with the baby expectedly. The change of focus sometimes impacts negatively on kids. Reassure her and engage her by helping out in caring for her sibling in any little way. Create a bond between them such that it takes her attention away from the cartoons a bit at least. With that, you can make her see herself as the big sister who should be able to manage herself and her brother. Gently go through the potty training route again while making her realise that she's no longer a baby who wears pampers.

I know this is a stressful process for a nursing mom but there's no magic solution. The doctors will guide you further no doubt but ultimately, patience and love will see you through.

Sounds like attention seeking behavior. She is seeing how you are all taking care of the baby and wants the same treatment. Let her know you love her and the new baby won't change your love for her.

I was just going to ask if you had another baby recently and then I saw it.

Kids are influenced in both directions, forward and backwards. The existence of a junior one underdeveloped the elder one for sometime until you consciously prevent it

Did you prepare her mind that she would be having a kid bro joining the family?

If no, I read that you've been talking to her, keep explaining that baby boy is a part of the family and her baby brother.

Also, reassure her that she's still the pretty (insert her name) that Daddy and mummy love so much and that kid brother loves her too.

Importantly, let the mum consciously prioritise her potty training by prompting her at specific intervals to use the potty.
When she poops or pee after prompting her, make sure that you immediately reinforce that behaviour with her most preferred snack or toy.

If she goes to toilet without prompting, reinforce her and include social praise(say something like " I'm so proud of you. I like how you used the potty nicely without being asked to. Give her a hi 👋 five)

I beg you, don't scream or smack her when she has a potty accident. It could get worse.

Shower her with fatherly affection and inclusion.

Noticeable improvements should be apparent in 2-4 weeks.

There is nothing wrong with him. He is very ok. Just that he is addicted to the cartoon and will never talk an eye of the cartoon for anything. I was very mad at my boy (2yrs+) yesterday: why? Because he pee on his clothes because he was watching cartoon.
