The Imo Police Command has confirmed that two persons died on Tuesday when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at the International Market, Orlu.

The command’s public relations officer, ASP Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident in a statement in Owerri.

Mr Okoye disclosed that several other people sustained injuries from the explosion while scampering to safety. He explained that the command had launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to him, a preliminary investigation revealed that two hoodlums died from an IED. “The two persons, who were incidentally the hoodlums, were killed in the process of setting up the IED.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has deployed anti-bomb operatives to the scene,” the police spokesman added.

Mr Okoye urged residents of the area and the traders in the market not to panic. He also urged the people to assist the police and other security agencies with relevant information on any suspicious activities by suspected hoodlums.

Igbos and easterners should be wise. When you see Igbo haters and primitive elements opening up threads about eastern region trying to market it negatively, know they have no good intention for the east.
Those things will keep shouting one Nigeria and yet they are the most deceitful and poisonous individuals we have in the country and need to be avoided.
I just feel they are all carrying on with the hatred their parents have towards the Igbos.
In their shallow mind, their region is the best while the eastern region is the worst.
Yet they are ready to fight a civil war to keep the worst region.
The north has been having security challenges, but you will never find those things in any topic about it.
The money spent in fighting insurgency is enough to develop the country properly and provide free education to the masses up to university levels.
Why can't they provide useful information so as to help reduce insecurity in the northern regions?

This is testing stage and I believe it started the same way just like bokoharam was testing then. I am very sure the next one will be done perfectly. I expect Lagos state government should prepare very good security network across all roads that links Lagos state to every other state because this haters will not rest until they have the Lagos that they developed for their children

The person who did that should be arrested by the DSS. He knows one or two things about the killings and bombings in the east, and he or she wants to use those well orchestrated violent acts to start off some ethnic and tribal wars across regions in Nigeria, with the easterners being their prinary targets

Thats what you and your evil handlers want to hear. Luckily that's not what is happening. In actual fact, every documented data in recent tines, shows that the south east has fewer amounts of violent crimes when compared to most regions including your hellish region. Is God not wonderful? Your Lagos ibadam expressway tribal press houses might say otherwise though
