Hello guys, I created the topic to seek your opinion on something I intend doing.

I have been teaching for some years now and I feel I am not making progress, man don dey old and no achievement in sight. I have a skill I am learning by the side(web development).

I want to quit my teaching job and focus on perfecting this skill for next 3 months.

But when I think of the economy and responsibilities and expectations from home, I procastinate.

But now the teaching job is becoming tiring to me, what should I do brethren

I earn like 55k and I do some homework lesson join...I do tell people but I particularly send my resume to job portals. As for data analysis, I would have ventured into it but I don't really like numbers

55k is really small for a full grown man in this terrible country. May God provide you with what your heart desires. I wish you can do more of the web stuff and perhaps add others.

teaching is stress and nothing to show for it after all the years and energy.
Make a move bro, don't delay.
Teaching is for fresh graduates and ladies and not an able bodied young man.
Research on high paying skills and decide which one you should go for

Except you have a way of attracting foreign clients, web development is not a profitable skill in Nigeria presently. Do your findings before you make a decision you'll regret later. All the best.

Teaching can be lucrative, get a masters in education, try this professional institution with better pay, with your years of experience, you can achieve better pay.

Web development is lucrative, but it takes time and experience, get freelance jobs takes time, getting employed takes experience as well.

Bottom line, try to develop your Web development portfolio before leaving, most people who leave their jobs run back within a month, you may think you will survive, and you can if you have something else, trust me, if you don't have something else and not sure if you can get help from relations, don't quit, as a guy, nobody will help you with money especially now, make sure you have another job before quitting.

I want to ask, if you resign
Can you feed yourself for 6 months with your bank account not shaking?
If you are a family man.. can you do the same? As written above?
Why not look for job before quitting.
Hello!! Businesses are crashing here in Nigeria. Nothing works anymore.
U don't just resign to sit at home o. As a man. I know teaching job is stressful plus the salary might not be favorable. Brother think am well.

Stick to the teaching job and learn forex. Join the5ers bootcamp currently going on for beginners and professionals. I promise you, this is the freedom you seek. You seem like a genuine kind person but without money you can’t realise your potential and forex is the only promise of tomorrow to give you the type of Money you’ve never dreamt of. It’s going to be tough of course but the reward outweighs the pain.

You can create a youtube channel and teach students. You've got to learn basic video editing, set up e.t.c. At some point, you will land private coaching classes with international students who will pay you as long as you are good. I know someone doing this and dude's killing it financially.

Do not leave your job for something uncertain. Make sure you are earning well from your IT skill before quitting your teaching job.
Most things are easier said than done.
Most people advising to quit will never assist you when reality sets in .

I'm a teacher and I've quit once to face my biz only to come back when my biz collapsed.
