Trump was the biggest opposition to the candidacy of NOI as DG WTO. As a matter of fact, Okonjo Iweala wouldn't have been elected the DG World Trade Organization if he had not lost to Biden just a few weeks before.
What would the return of Trump mean for the reelection of Madam Okonjo for a second term and by extension to Nigeria being the holder to the seat?.
Trump has no option than to support NOI,she will win her reelection easily even if Trump oppose her, world does revolve around Trump and USA only.

Why does she need to be re-elected? Is it her birthright?

The world trade presidency does not benefit Nigeria, not because of her but because Nigeria is a failed country. You're looking at cosmetics of a Nigerian Biafran occupying that position grin

Go and put a biafran flag in her office since it was Kanu, the kuje lord that recommended her and not Buhari.

Nigeria is not the holder of the seat. NOI is holding the seat as an American citizen.

She became an American citizen in 2019 pledging her allegiance to the USA specifically because of the opposition of Trump to her candidature.

As far as Trump retaining her, Trump is unashamedly America first and has no time for woke globalist economists. If she is not going to dance to the tune she’ll be out the door. Simple as!

WTO was never designed for the global south but to protect the interests of the west and in the west the number 1 interest is the interest of the US.

It's about the country, not you.
What's the benefits of WTO to Nigeria that doesn't produce or export anything?
Countries that should bother about WTO position are countries that trade in real terms, not a country that borrow money with crude oil that is still inside the ground.

I think she would leave that position.
if you remember, Trump block her from getting it in 2020.
It was after the Election that Biden Confirmed her as the DG in February 2021

A sitting American President has a lot of influence on who becomes WTO D/G.

However, Trump is feared by Americans majorly for his unpredictability.

He will likely consider the policy direction of the NOI led WTO and the Management of Global trade with American interest before supporting her tenor extension or totally withdrawing his support.

As for Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala (PhD) she has shattered records as the first woman to hold that post and is a fulfilled global career technocrat.

That's all that matters.

If he decides to go after then now that he is 47 that is because they have relentlessly come for his head.
