I used that of Lagos. We initially used the link for Abuja, mistakenly and got no response. After completing the google form. An information came up on the subject and all the information they want us to include in the mail which we did. Like DS-160, Passport no., DOB, full name, which we did.

We saw June, 2025 and my son is to resume January. Still waiting for approval for expidited action.

We got June 2025. This whole process is tiring. @everyone Please is it possible to still buy date with this new system. I was arguing with someone about it. I want to be sure, I am not being unnecessarily stubborn

Were you able to select the date ? i got August dates and once i selct the dates, it is not loading.

I paid my visa fee via first bank transfer on the 31st of October 2024, immediately after payment was made and i got the receipt, I was redirected and asked to fill my amentum number which I did. Its been 5days after and everytime I click my pending appointment request, I see my visa status showing  "in progress" , and below it I see the pay visa fee of 185 dollars. I've not been directed to a page where I can pick dates or anything. Please I'd like to know what is causing the delay and I'll appreciate any advice I can get, my resumption date is in January. Any help on this?

But the question I wanted to asked is that will I used the correct Passport number or the one I used to fill the new appointment to do the payment in bank. Thanks

AVIT cant help . They have no idea of what’s happening. This is what u do ; In the new profile, change the last digit of your passport number and proceed. It’ll allow you to proceed and book an appointment. Your appointment slip will come out with this new passport number (the one with the last digit changed), don’t fret, it’s okay, however, your DS-160 will bear the right Passport number, that’s what they’ll use to pull out ur details. Your appointment slip has no usefulness pass the AVIT security members who’ll check the slip and compare it with what they have on their system to be sure you have an appointment that day. After the security procedure, what matter is your DS-160 page , passport and i20 ( passport and i20 are the two documents the VO will collect from u)

If you don’t do this, you’ll keep getting “duplicate applicants……” even if you use 100 emails

I just wanna share my transcript here incase anyone finds it useful, because I am going for my second masters and the visa officer was aware of it.

First Attempt
Location: Abuja
Status: Approved after 4 weeks
I have an existing 5 years B1/B2 Visa

VO: Good Morning
ME: Good Morning Ma

VO: I can see you have a B1B2 Visa
ME: Yes, I do

VO: What is your highest qualification?

ME: I have a masters degree

VO: So why are you going for another masters

ME: My previous masters was in Finance and this master’s degree is not just an additional qualification but a strategic investment in my career. I work as a management information analyst with *******, this role has introduced me to the world of data analysis, information systems, the future of the banking industry lies in the integration of technology and information systems to enhance financial operations and decision making , so in order for me to remain relevant and excel in the industry and in my current role, I need to enhance my skills in managing information systems to better optimize decision making and operations and financial processes.

VO: Why did you Choose Lamar?

ME: I met a lady when I went to Cancun for holiday, and we spoke about our career and education. She had so many good reviews about Lamar Uni. ME: I told her the date I gave birth and how long I stayed and also I paid with cash. She started typing for longggggggggggg (Her countenance had changed, but I was not worried because I applied for a medical visa and declared at the poe)

VO: Can I see your receipts and statements from the hospital?
Me: I do not have them here, I did not know I had to bring them with me here

To be honest, I never thought they will ask for it again, since I had renewed my visa twice and also travelled three times after then and no one asked for them.

She picks a white a paper (In my mind, thank God she is approving the visa)

VO: I will be refusing your visa based on 221g , I need you to send your all receipts and statement from hospital to this address below

Oh boy, I started seeing double and I did not hear anything again...lool

I dropped the documents at the address the following day and 4 weeks later, My visa was approved.

This is why you should do things yourself as a student because you won’t be asking this question. You can easily reschedule to closer date on your portal

Reschedule and book a closer date. If u are in lagos, there is a date for Nov 2024.

I’m seeing plenty November dates for Lagos now oh, is it only me But none for Abuja.

I’ve sha booked for next week in lagos (my ds160 was for abuja), I’m thinking of filling a new ds160 for Lagos today, what do you guys think?

I go just carry the 2.
I actually saw in previous threads that it isn’t an issue and besides some agents I contacted said the same thing too.
Note: This is just my personal opinion.

Please don't. Your appointment has your application number. And it doesn't matter if on the visa application you choose Afghanistan as your embassy as long as you have your confirmation page, the embassy will scan the barcode and get all your information.

Apply for an expedited interview. They still have dates in November.
