Dangote have enjoyed so much forex that he thinks he can continue the monopolistic drive even with his over hyped refinery. Now he can't compete in a free market.
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by ehikwe22: 9:26am On Nov 07, 2024
Why are you selling fuel for 1000? You're getting it from Nigeria and not paying for shipping or any forms of duty. Soon you'll start buying in naira and definitely you'll not reduce it unless you're forced

The day Nigeria masses will remember this man with his style of fleecing Nigerians his business will start having problems. He should just concentrate on his business and allow others to do theirs
let him continue....Nigerians will go wild someday and destroy that refinery and then deal with all thieving politicians,
their eye go clear

Your comment is a colossal tragedy.

Competition should come from local manufacturing and not importation which further weakens the poor Naira.

Until we have competitive refineries, monopoly and higher pricing, are lesser evil than importation of what is already produced locally!

Cheaper petrol or other products, does not imply better economy.

Dangote is a fraud. Has always been. Will always be. He started with importation of cement for several years. After fleecing us and setting up his cement factory, he wanted the importation of cement banned. He has started playing same card in the petroleum sector.
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by Agugbadin: 9:28am On Nov 07, 2024
Nice one.I will never support petrol importation because the jobs of young Nigerians is been exported to countless where the refining is done, also forex preservation is one gain too to mention but two.

That was what he did in the Cement industry and now we are paying through our nose.

He wants to do the same in the oil industry. He no go work.

If you don't want importation, reduce your pms price and see how importation will die naturally.
my joy is that all this gra gra he will not even take #1 to hell fire when him eventually dies.....so wats the use of the worldly gratification .....if I can get something I can eat with good health without go about borrowing money from people then I'll say enough for me
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by slowice(m): 9:28am On Nov 07, 2024
When we said it, sadwest people called us all manner of names. Dangote can only thrive in monopoly and goverment protection, even against indigenous competitors.

If your product is priced fairly, nobody will travel to a far away p lacs to import products. You will naturally shut them down
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by spiSeyi: 9:28am On Nov 07, 2024
I only pity those who are pitying Dangote because with Dangote monopoly we might start buying PMS at 2k.
Dangote should get into the market and stop crying he should make his price attractive or kuku build mega stations around the major cities in the country like NNPCL. And sell his own fuel at 500 NGN per liter
If Dangote fuel is truly cheaper no one will import bcs every biz man is out there to make profit
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by Justnation: 9:30am On Nov 07, 2024
" you will never allow importation" as if Nigeria belongs to you.
That careless and arrogant statement is unfortunate.
Dangote never means well for Nigeria, very selfish and monopolistic.
I knew his refinery will never lead to reduction in petrol prices as claimed

Dangote go and sit down u are useless to Nigerians.

Iphupa:
Dangote should STFU.. we know what you are trying to do
What is he trying to do?. That's you should enjoy indigenization and stop exporting jobs while loosing valuable forex to stabilize your economy is sensible.

Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited should respond to the allegations.
Pinnacle doesn't owe Dangote a response. Their response will make him cry.

Pinnacle tank farm is just bedside Dangote refinery in Ibeju lekki. They will import fuel and sell at a lesser price compared to his refinery. If he can't compete, let him sell his refinery to scrap metal boys. Dangote is a greedy fellow and he will see shege.

We want the greater evil. Leave it like that.
Pinnacle will import fuel and sell it for cheaper. Dangote can go to hell.

Guess who owns Pinnacle?
Or you think Pinnacle tank farm was built without the input of Tinubu and Buhari?

He won't bring salvation to Nigeria.

Dangote wants to be both player and regulator. That cannot work
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by Houseontherock1: 9:37am On Nov 07, 2024
Dangote can't survive in a competitive market; he can only thrive in Monopoly and that's what he wants at the expense of the populace. He is a greedy businessman who is only concerned about profit...which refinery is there to compete with his FG assisted refinery? None!
Until there are other local refineries to break his monopoly, he's yarning dust
Re: We Support Competition But Won’t Allow Continued Petrol Import –Dangote Refinery by victorVIC1(m): 9:37am On Nov 07, 2024
Prior to this post I was in full support of Dangote refinery cos having operational refineries locally is vital to drive significant reduction in the price of oil products but it's now obvious that Dangote as usual is all about himself. Now I understand why other key stakeholders in the sector were mute during his travails with NNPC.

The best thing for the economy is to have alternative channels of supply, local or import.

Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited should respond to the allegations.
They've already responded.

naptu2:
grin Don't you just love competition?

Dangote vs Pinnacle.

Dangote's allegation

“At the same time, an international trading company has recently hired a depot facility next to the Dangote Refinery, with the objective of using it to blend substandard products that will be dumped into the market to compete with Dangote Refinery’s higher quality production.
Those Importing PMS Cheaper Than Ours Are Selling Substandard Products

Pinnacle's response.

“On November 3, 2024, the Dangote Organization issued a Press Release. In the Release, Dangote alleged that “…an international trading company has recently hired a depot facility next to the Dangote Refinery, to use it to blend substandard products that will be dumped into the market to compete with Dangote Refinery’s higher quality products.”

“Pinnacle Oil & Gas has the only depot facility next to the Dangote Refinery. Without equivocation, we state that Pinnacle Oil & Gas would never engage or attempt to import or distribute any off-spec or substandard product into the Nigerian market. Our company has a reputation for integrity and regulatory compliance which is extremely important to us.”
