GloriousGbola:And is it possible your middleclass experience was different from her middleclass experience? Like two families fit dey, similar income bracket...famA priortizes going to the best schools, which means things like home entertainment and some other amenities take back burner, and famB chooses to send kids to okay schools, and things like PS, colored TV and cable is their norm. |

Theflint1:She did not grow up in poverty. Her parents held good money for Naija standards. It was their maid that went to fetch water a mile away not her. |

Theflint1:Dude I posted the stories she wrote She claimed she was reading with candle light in the 90s. I raise this picture and call bullshit She claimed she was fetching water personally over 1km away from her house. You either had a borehole or a well in your house or you paid aboki for water. She claimed robberies every other night. Every night?? The woman is the equivalent of studio gangsters. She is just fortunate no one who knew her from that time is bothering to call her out on her Bullshit.

afrodoc2:Afrodoc when he runs for parliament I went to the hardest school in Nigeria. We sometimes went for days without bathing. We were constantly attacked by herdsmen. We read at night by candle light. We had grasses and weeds taller than us. We were in the middle of nowhere. It was hell on earth and it was a miracle I made it through. It was thanks to my faith in God or I would have died there. I can choose to describe my secondary school like this. |

izzou:Lmao hence why we see through the bullshit that the conservative party will do by saying they are diversified. That woman's soul is whiter than her skin color. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 9:57am On Nov 07, 2024 |
GloriousGbola:Yea, she might be exaggerating some of the specifics (that fetching water 1KM away part for example ), but her general description of growing up in Nigeria in the 90's middleclass isn't off the mark by much. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 9:59am On Nov 07, 2024 |
Theflint1:So to quote izzou - were you living in a dystopia? Though I don't know if you grew up in lagos or edo. |

https://www.nairaland.com/8260553/support-competition-wont-allow-continued Dangote is mad. The irony is Pinnacle Oil have built the largest terminal in Nigeria, maybe West Africa. They have the only other spm through which product can enter Nigeria without demurrage They also have shareholders who expect value. I am really tired of dangote and his monopolist Bullshit. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 10:12am On Nov 07, 2024 |
GloriousGbola:I grew in Edo, and can relate with most of what she said...fetching water like 400-500M away, occasional water supply from waterboard, poor electricity, reading with candle and lantern...maybe the only exception would be that armed robbery thing, but I know armed robbery was rife in the 90's and early 2000s in some parts of the country. Kemi grew in Nigeria in that Abacha time, it's not impossible for her impression of things from that era to be quite dystopian, even though in the truest sense might not have been. It's like a kid growing in Nigeria of today, they'd def remember it as an era of great economic uncertainty...and it's an era that's getting compared with the brutal days of Abacha. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 10:17am On Nov 07, 2024 |
Theflint1:It is actual poor children that know uncertainty. Middle class children at worst will see that maybe they are not enjoying everything they used to. All your meals, school, shelter and you can see actual poor children around you - she is making up stories. especially as this was a time when public schools were not that bad and private schools were for the upper middle class See as you too are forming suffer man claiming you carried two 50 litre jerry can of water on your head every day. ![]() |

Hello Nigerians 🇳🇬 Here are 14 States that will STRUGGLE if FAAC allocation stops coming in today! If FAAC disappears today, these states will struggle to pay salaries, pension and gratuity. This is because they rely on FAAC for at least 70% of their total revenue. 1. Bayelsa - 92.17% 2. Akwa Ibom - 86.29% 3. Delta - 83.88% 4. Taraba - 81.89% 5. Niger - 80.19% 6. Benue - 79.85% 7. Anambra - 76.94% 8. Bauchi - 75.33% 9. Cross River - 74.87% 10. Nasarawa - 74.55% 11. Gombe - 72.29% 12. Enugu - 70.68% 13. Edo - 70.24% 14. Kano - 70.24% Is your state among this list? Can your state still function if FAAC allocation is removed from its total revenue? BudgITng

First and foremost, he was wrong coz I called it out not DonJ. He even quoted my post to seek jail term for those that registered the kids. LOL! OasisX:

OasisX:Look at you trying to be clever by half. You think we cannot read? ![]() You wrote "Northerners why?", then attached screenshots of southerners, and you called it first abi? Anyone with eyes should please click on his post, and see he was responding to A4.0 that called out the children voters up North. Called it out ko, prophesied upon it ni |

Theflint1:Have to agree with with you. I grew up in what I would class as a middle class household in the 90s in the trenches of Bariga and later Abule-Egba. We used to have to go and fetch water in the morning before school from a tap that you stood under with your bucket on your head, and put in our plastic 'drums' in the kitchen and bathroom. We used to get tons of roaches and particularly earthworms come through the bathtub drain, and one of my most enduring memories was having a permant bowl of salt next to the bath soap. We didn't have a gen, and I wasn't allowed to watch TV during term time in primary school so I read a lot. My dad would take me to stop centre each year to pick a book for my birthday and to yaba and ikeja to buy comics that I would read by candle light at night, or sometimes go to the balcony to read by my neighbour's floodlight when their gen was on. I attended a pretty expensive primary school for the most part and never felt out of place with the kids of some really rich people, and when I moved to Kiniun Ifa primary school in Gbagada in primary I was genuinely appalled despite the fact that most of classmstes lived in the same or similar neighborhoods. I think some parents did an exemplary job of shielding their kids from the reality of their lives sha, and I'm very grateful to my parents for being in that cohort. I believe Kemi Badenoch cos I'm from Ilaje road Bariga |

There is /a problem in Northern Nigeria because children are protesting against the "Brain-but-not-the-body" government Come 2027, we will see Kano and Kaduna with 5 million voters and 99% PVC collection, but you will not remember that these same children full inside. |

OasisX:Ohh...So at least we have moved past "I called it out". No, you didn't. For every one who complained about it up not, you didn't say anything. You rather posted those one in the south too. You have no post of stating this was a potential danger to Nigeria. Make una relax. Even Tinubu knows they are instrumental to his future, and that was why he released them with "Abeg", meanwhile you guys were stating something else online. No worry. Relax. You go need these children again. Na just small setback |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 10:52am On Nov 07, 2024 |
nihilistjnr:Exactly, nobody has really come out to disprove her unique experience. E get kids then for primary school, wey get one leg outside country (like Kemi), you'd go to their houses it's a mess, and when they come to school, they come with lots of cash and toys, so people's experience growing can vary wildly, even when they are in same income and economic bracket. |

Her parents were lecturers in UNILAG where Kemi spent her formative years even went to the secondary school within the campus called ISL. I would buy her sob story if she said she was dodging bullets from cultists but treaking miles to fetch water in UNILAG? Na mate. Theflint1: |

OasisX:You did not condemn the underage voting in the North. Someone talked about it, you showed him posts of it in the South. I did not lie and it is right there in what you dug up yourself. |
