You did not condemn the underage voting in the North.

Someone talked about it, you showed him posts of it in the South.

I did not lie and it is right there in what you dug up yourself.
cheesy

.......LMFAO! You lied bruh, except you can share my post(s) where indeed I support underage voters in the north.

I guess I shouldn't have shared that the menace extends to South?!

Her parents were lecturers in UNILAG where Kemi spent her formative years even went to the secondary school within the campus called ISL.

I would buy her sob story if she said she was dodging bullets from cultists but treaking miles to fetch water in UNILAG? Na mate.
She's just doing what she thinks like doing to curry favour to climb the political ladder whether truths, half truths, white lie, red lies or whatsoever, this didn't start today and it won't stop tomorrow.
The game is the game.

"In July, 2024, New York Times columnists said Russia was unlikely to make significant territorial gains in the next few months, three days ago the same journalists acknowledged that Russia has been making such steady territorial gains that the war is no longer a stalemate. "

If you like allow Western media dey carry you handicap 1 na you know. Even dem too no dey believe their propaganda. Reality is different

Lecturers no really begin flex until OBJ era enter...those Abacha time dem, they were just okay. If you've read the book Purple Hibiscus, you'd see a perfect description of what life was like for lecturers in that era, not poor, but far from comfortable, more lower middleclass with the respect of their status...and I don't think UNILAG would have been exempt from the unstable power and water supply that rocked that era.

People should make their own independent research not just consume whatever the Lame stream media is pushing...

Russian troops dey annex Ukrainian territories with shovel according to the Lame stream media

University life was/is still relatively comfortable compared to the lives of your average lower middle class.

UNILAG in those days was still decent so I still insist her story of suffering is suspect but hey more grease to her elbow she has become the leader of a major UK political party.

Have to agree with with you.

I grew up in what I would class as a middle class household in the 90s in the trenches of Bariga and later Abule-Egba.

We used to have to go and fetch water in the morning before school from a tap that you stood under with your bucket on your head, and put in our plastic 'drums' in the kitchen and bathroom.

We used to get tons of roaches and particularly earthworms come through the bathtub drain, and one of my most enduring memories was having a permant bowl of salt next to the bath soap.

We didn't have a gen, and I wasn't allowed to watch TV during term time in primary school so I read a lot. My dad would take me to stop centre each year to pick a book for my birthday and to yaba and ikeja to buy comics that I would read by candle light at night, or sometimes go to the balcony to read by my neighbour's floodlight when their gen was on.

I attended a pretty expensive primary school for the most part and never felt out of place with the kids of some really rich people, and when I moved to Kiniun Ifa primary school in Gbagada in primary I was genuinely appalled despite the fact that most of classmstes lived in the same or similar neighborhoods.

I think some parents did an exemplary job of shielding their kids from the reality of their lives sha, and I'm very grateful to my parents for being in that cohort. I believe Kemi Badenoch cos I'm from Ilaje road Bariga
but based on your experiences, would you say you lived in a dystopian hell hole? like you said - our parents did what they could . for the most part we never had any idea just how bad things were. thats why madam kemis stories sound like packaged BS to me. it is as we are older and looking back we may say things were hard. kids simply do not see it.

I get your point about the Sunak comparison. Nikki, Tulsi, and Vivek did not impugn their heritage to get ahead.
And boy do they have a lot to yammer about. From caste schisms to violence against women.

However, since she's this close to becoming the next PM in a country where blacks constitute less than 4% and Nigerians make up less than half a percent, her ascendancy through the conservative track no less is a triumph and amounts to missing the forest for the trees to cheer for her downfall.

her ascendancy is not going to do anything for nigeria

she sounds like the kind of person who will insult any nigerian as a lazy , corrupt thug to score brownie points with her conservative colleagues.

she is for me, a cynical strategy on the part of the conservatives to start courting minority votes. the trump model. though i don't know if kemi has the charisma and entertainment factor to carry it through.

This woman grew up upper middle class. When you write your college admission essay, that's when you throw in all this pepper and spice to gba the oyibos.
I am sure Ibime wrote about how he walked through oil spill to get to school. tongue

But in politicking This is what is known as cooning.

Rishi Sunak is also Indian, but you don't hear him knocking India for political capital with conservatives
Sorry, but i don't see any problem in what she said or do you expect her to lie by painting a picture of an eldorado that doesn't exist?

She doesn't even send Nigeria, how many times has abike dabiri said she's been snubbed when reaching out to her. In my opinion we should just let her be since she's already declared who she is.

kemi badneoch is not the first nigerian to make it abroad or out of the ghetto

every abroadian here has stories that can match or make hers sound like nothing. afrodoc and myself went to a govt funded school where we had no light for the first three years, where the grasses were taller than the students, where we often relied on a borehole, and the dormitories were abandoned student hostels. some had leaking roofs and you would be in class and it worked start raining and you would know your locker and clothes would be soaked

we did not see ourselves as living in a hell. if we are going to tell stories about it today - we tell them as a celebration of perseverance. not oh shit i went to the worst school you can imagine.

kemi badneoch is like those gangsta rappers of the 90s. (ice cube and co) - making up hard knock life stories when they grew up solid middle class.

She did smash a glass ceiling though.
I thought that counted for something to Liberals.

I also do not understand why you'll disparage a strategy that'll get more minority voices in conservative circles.
That is a good thing.
