Many of you here bought MTN sim for 40k when they first entered the telecoms industry with their huge investments, heaven did not fall.

So why didn't government shut mtn out for glo?

Monopoly loading….
He can't get monopoly. Not possible.

Tinubu family also has huge stake in the oil and gas space.

The collective marketers will never let him rest too.

Why import petrol when we have two private and four public refineries? Is that cement industry worked out?

Dangote F+up, if your entry price of PMS starts at the Top @ 960/litre.. then when is your brought going to be affordable..

For government to look for alternatives advicing Nigerians to go for CNG...

Means Nigeria refinery is not coming up anytime soon...

And Dangote likes to suffocate his own country people...

What happens to crashing your refined products...

Your product is the pride of Africa... Not profit agency...

Let importation continue ooo..

because public Transportation is no longer for the poor again..

MTN is foreign while glo is local, We can say dangote is foreign because he is located on a free trade zone. Let government ensure our own local refinery comes on stream ( that's our glo ) do you understand now?

I think they promised us Ph Refinery some months back?
Infact, BAT supporters used dangote refinery to make noise up and down. Look at the result today.

When the head is bad, no matter how you try, the body will follow suit.

Keep supporting APC for that small N30k , you hear. The time is coming when even that N30k will not last you for a week.

They all refused to invest in refineries. Only Dangote took the risk. They want to continue driving down the value of the naira by importing fuel. Allow Dangote to recoup his money, jare!

I am calling on all parties to flood the market. We must buy this product at 65naira like in the olden days. But why can't these marketers put their head together and own at least one functional refinery, that is the question every sensible Nigerian should be asking.

Bigframe:
Dangote, you can sell to other countries if importation is cheaper for us.
If you know that your locally market is good and is economically friendly, there is no reason to restrict others person from importing the same goods to the nation.
Two things must be involved;
It is either your goods is not good or it is not economically friendly.

Dangote is Nigeria's problem

1) Dangote don't want marketers to import fuel in Nigeria, 🚨🚨 monopoly act

2) Dangote should be blocked from exporting the refill crude oil 🚨🚨 marketers act.

Importation of petroleum products is BAD for our ECONOMY due to massive trade deficit, BAD for the Naira. Period! The marketers should buy from local refineries or build their own refineries.
Re: Oil Marketers Drag Dangote To Court, Insist On Petrol Import by Reload101: 10:46am On Nov 07, 2024
Nigeria, my beloved country. Why would anyone prefer importation at this time? Could this be evidence that influential Nigerians own refineries outside our borders? This might explain why, despite numerous turnaround maintenance efforts, our local refineries remain non-operational.

Wow ....I don't believe importation of Petrol is good for this struggling economy we find ourselves. ..the solution is for dangote to sell directly to marketers..NNPC should act as referee..by so doing we will have a reasonable affordable price of psm . We should use our scarce dollars for other things not fuel importation... FTC the mods should do the needful
You don't know what you are saying , many things are pointing fingers against Aliko Dangote,

An example is the Cement Industry, go and check it out , I would love to go more into this but enough said already

How about all the other local refineries that were promised? Dangote may not be a saint but he is only opposing foreign competition and not local competition. Why are they trying to import fuel by force instead of having more local refineries. Something is amiss here.
You're talking like an ignoramus that has zero idea about business.

Do you know what monopolist do?

They handicap anyone trying to get into their business space except that person is also a giant like them.

If Dangote succeeds in stopping importation, he'll cripple all the local refineries directly or indirectly.

Do you think that man doesn't have a hand whether directly or indirectly on why our refinery won't work and why petrol is this expensive?

The greedy crook is only after increasing his wealth at the expense of Nigerians despite getting lots of waivers from government.

How can petrol refined here be more expensive than imported ones.

Better we import than surrender to that greedy thief called Dangote undecided

Those guys knows what they are saying. They are in the game and they understands Dangote's desperations .

Dangote never likes competition and I don't think he can stand it in a free and fair economy. Always enjoying government cover and policies.

I still maintain that if there is fair competition, Dangote should reduce his own price once these guys bring in theirs and they aren't asking anyone for subsidy.

People seems to leave the matter and poking a totally different issue.
Re: Oil Marketers Drag Dangote To Court, Insist On Petrol Import by CHAQUR: 11:05am On Nov 07, 2024
I can assure you... None of them is a friend of the masses. The marketers are merely threatening the dangerous Dangote with their willingness /readiness to import the fuel if he doesn't give them (the bulk buyers) the comparative advantage over other marketers. Once he gives them a ₦50 discount, nobody go hear anything again. Having surplus supply of the product is the only option out. Government is not looking in that direction as the statue quo gives return without investments.

Dangote fuel is too expensive, cosy of production is relatively very low compared to those imported from Europe, America and Asia yet he sell at relatively same price with the imported one. That's wickedness against the state and her citizens.
Have we attend sufficiency since we band importation of rice? What about Cement? Remember how the past administration priorities the Refinery, given dollar at lower exchange rate.
Nigerian elites are wicked

When I see Nigerians criticizing Dangote, I just shake my head. You want to force dangote to lower his price without asking the right question?

1. How much is the government selling crude to him?

2. These marketers who took dangote to court for reducing the price of diesel from 1700 to 900. R they protecting the interest of the masses or themselves?

3. Why is Tinubu silent in all of this?

I hear people say dangote is trying to monopolize the sector and whose fault is that? We were in this country when Mele Kyari kept making promises giving different date on when our refinery would come on stream but nothing happened.

The same masses complaining that dollar to naira is going up are the same people supporting marketers to put more pressure on the naira by sourcing for forex for fuel importation. What do we actually want?

Let all the marketers pull their resources together and establish their own refinery to provide the needed competition since government govt can't get theirs working.

Importation of fuel is not the best for us as a country. For those crying of monopoly, well maybe that's the benefit dangote will get for daring to do what a whole government could not do.

Many of you here bought MTN sim for 40k when they first entered the telecoms industry with their huge investments, heaven did not fall.

Let's support dangote refinery for now, BUA refinery is also coming, by the time we have 3 to 4 private refinery, I believe it would force down price.

PS: Before you view this post from the lens of tribe, permit me to say that I'm from the south and dangote is not in anyway my relative. Just airing my thoughts.
It's matter of tribalism or religion rather investment. For now no justification for stopping importation
Re: Oil Marketers Drag Dangote To Court, Insist On Petrol Import by Origin(f): 11:20am On Nov 07, 2024
For everyone to be going to court, I hope one government has not guaranteed no importation as long as that refinery is in existence.....

If this contract does not exist then there is no reason any one is in court.

Antitrust laws, free trade, capitalist nation - not sure what the problem is here. We already have existing structures for oil importation. Is there a regulation restricting importation?
