National Grid Collapse: Abuja Axis Restored, Recovery Still Ongoing by nlfpmod(mod): 8:17pm On Nov 07, 2024
@TCN_NIGERIA wishes to inform the public that the national grid experienced a disturbance at approximately 11:29am this morning, caused by a sudden rise in frequency from 50.33Hz to 51.44Hz. Recovery efforts began immediately, and the Abuja Axis was restored within 28 minutes.

Recovery is still ongoing.

The frequency spike was caused by issues encountered at one of our substations, which had to be shut down to prevent further complications. In addition to this, we are actively engaged in significant repair work on several critical transmission lines and substations. This includes the 330kV transmission lines along the Shiroro–Mando axis, major upgrades at the Jebba Transmission Substation, and the restoration of the second Ugwuaji–Apir 330kV transmission line.

Furthermore, following the submission of the investigative report on the causes of previous grid collapses, we have begun addressing the identified weaknesses in the transmission system. Efforts are being made to close the gaps highlighted in the report and to enhance the overall stability and resilience of the grid. These efforts include both technical upgrades and strategic interventions based on the committee’s recommendations.

However, it is important to note that while these repairs and improvements are underway, some degree of instability in the system is likely to persist until all major works are completed.

We acknowledge the impact of these disruptions and ask for the understanding and patience of the public during this challenging period.
The company remains committed to improving the reliability of electricity supply, recognizing the vital role that stable power plays in Nigeria’s socio-economic development. We assure the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the grid's long-term stability, in line with the recommendations of the investigative committee, while also addressing infrastructure damage such as vandalized transmission lines.

Useless president voted by brainless illiterate local home based Nigerians.

All ya mudaf4cas are interested about Kemi trying to make UK great again forgetting that the Mumu président you voted for with billions can't get a good hospital equivalent to the one he ran always to treat his ass in United kingdom.

Ever since elected the Chicago ghetto wannabe can't even fix simple electricity the primary basic thing for a sensible government to kickstart the dying Economy he took from 1st to 4th in Africa and still ya chimps supporters braindead third world tree climbers want him to proceed to second term.

Y'all will eat yourselves soon when the bubble you made settle.

Drop the mic.

Dry season hasn't even began yet the national grid has collapsed too many times.

My people , my people, this is just a tip of the iceberg. When dry season kicks in fully, then you will know the difference between rise in temperature and heat.

The biggest demon in Jagaban govt na NEPA. They are the witches trying to sabotage our renewed hope agenda. National grid always collapsing and how do traders earn in dollar consistently without adequate power supply to consistently monitor the market cos trading is a full time thing where you don’t take your eyes off the market. It is well o.
God bless Jagaban

For God's sake..
Unbundle TCN abeg.
Let the regions or states run their own independent grid networks..
Encourage off grid, IPP companies to flow into the country..
Let there be pockets of mini grids all over the country perfectly insulated from each other so when a substation is blown up by BK in the North..a small town in Edo or a suburb in Lagos shouldn't have to pay the price.

Re: National Grid Collapse: Abuja Axis Restored, Recovery Still Ongoing by Hemanwel(m):
Since Nigeria's power generation has turned a massive joke, and for the national grid not to collapse in the future, and because of the fact that the tiny amount being generated can no longer sustain the whole country, I will suggest we ration electricity between the north and the south. That is to say, the north will enjoy electricity for one week while the south stays in darkness, and the next week, the south enjoys electricity while north stays in darkness.

Make we know say all of us dey craze for the country
