Kennitrust:
you have not told us how Dangote monopoly on cement products that had local crude, has helped Nigeria.

Innocent is producing clean cars and no one is fighting for it to be the sole supplier of vehicles in the country.

What has Dangote done to alleviate the pain of Nigerian?
Boom!

Here's some information about Nigeria's cement industry:
Major players
The three largest cement producers in Nigeria are Dangote Cement, BUA Cement, and Lafarge Nigeria:
Dangote Cement: The largest cement producer in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa, with 60% of the domestic market share
BUA Cement: Second largest, with 20.4% of the domestic market share
Lafarge Nigeria: Part of the Holcim Group, with 19.5% of the domestic market share
New player New $1.5bn Mangal cement plant launches in Kogi
With a production capacity of 200 trucks of cement daily, the facility is expected to create 10,000 direct jobs and numerous indirect employment opportunities
There should be way more than this 3 cement producers in the country especially for a country of 230 million. This is why there is so much inflation in this country smh.

Only a foolish person would not have noticed this glaring fact from the day the greedy spoon-fed idiotic crybaby dreamt about starting a refinery project.

You should advocate for opening up the markets instead of killing local markets with importation.
Dangote can never compete with international oil mafia. You thing the international oil traders are happy with Dangote?
In this case, the international oil mafia's are the lesser devil's

Dangote is just focused on how to solely flinch the living daylight out of the average person because of the decayed system of things in the government

Why would imported fuel be cheaper than petrol refined locally?

That Man is obviously up to something.

Talking trash as always.

Nigerians couldn't buy Dangote cement, so they won't be able to buy his refined petroleum products either.

So why is INNOSON and other local automobile manufacturers don't go to court to sue importers of foreign automobiles into the country.

If imported refined petroleum products are now cheaper than the ones that Dangote produces locally, then importers should go ahead and import.

This exploitations for financial gains must stop.
God bless you for replying that Mofo

I don't know how some people in the name of politically correct starts to write foolish things

Someone wants to obviously do what he has been notoriously known for, but this time on petrol for the vast profit it will bring and he doesn't care if Nigerians drain their blood's to get it, and one idiot educated illiterate is making excuses for him.

If anyone tell u that Tinubu doesn't have larger share and interest in Dangote refinery then you are living in delusion. Dangote is just a front on this refinery and if care is not taken these people will ruin this country and there will be nothing left. How can a president be looking on for one man to monopolise petroleum industry. NNPC and other stakeholders know the truth of what's happening and that's why they created petrol scarcity so that Dangote can have his way there by putting more misery on the masses. Tinubu should know that his children will suffer for all these hardship on the masses. It's just a matter of time

Awesome! Then let's handover Nigeria to him. We owe him everything we are today. Had Dangote not emerged, Nigeria would have finished. Without Dangote cement, cement would be sold for 100k per bag. With Dangote refinery, fuel will be sold for #100 per liter. Jobs are overflowing everywhere.

Also mind you, Nigeria had nothing before Dangote came aboard. Even the refinery, dangote got the funding from his pocket, Nigeria never played a role in it

This your talk is careless assumption.

The Nigerian government has four refineries, have you asked yourself why none is fully functional till date?

Go and check the house committee that investigated the fuel import in 2012 when goodluck wanted to remove subsidy and how much the Nigerian government paid for no fuel. Check how otedola bribed the chairman of that committee to look the other way.

Before you talk have a little restrain to look at both sides of the story, so that your assessment can come with a perspective of balance.

Nigeria is a conglomerate of illiterates, courtesy of the thiefing political class. When the corrupt politicians pretend to be on the side of the masses to keep looting the treasury, you hear them accusing people like Dangote of monopoly in the oil sector, whereas for over 30 years, they kept stealing the money meant for fixing the refineries to produce the fuel locally. They use the same stolen money to import fuel, and collect subsidy benefits.

When did Dangote stop NNPC from fixing the refinaries, or approving private companies to build new refinaries to produce fuel locally for a fair market competition? Dangote knows is right as a local producer, and he has approached the court. Whoever believes that Dangote is aiming at the so-called monopoly in the oil sector should approach the cout too.

How can someone produce goods locally, and you import same product to sell in the same market, and call that competition?
Don’t be fooled by all the noise from NNPC and all its affiliates. They want to turn Nigerians against Dangote so they can keep importing fuel, and steal from the treasury in the name of subsidy.

If the oil giants are afraid of oil sector monopoly by Dangote, let them build refineries, and produce fuel locally. They have crude oil locally to produce fuel.

Every sane person knows that the best economy is when there is local production, rather than importation. Even the thiefing politicians know this, but they will try all means to control Dangote, or blackmail him to support their reason for continuous fuel importation.
Absolutely.

There is nothing like monopoly, this are same people that don't won't Government own refinery to work, so that they can be milking the country, thy should stop importation, let the Government sell of the 3 own refinery to private individual, to take off for healthy competition, plus all modular refinery. competition is allowed among those that
refine, not importers ,against importation from now.

No Dangotes's business benefitted anyone in terms of sustainable and fair economic gains. People always say he created jobs and I say yes, but the cocaine and other hard drug businesses also create jobs. Even armed robbery gangs, and other organized crimes create jobs too.

So what are we talking about.

Inflation is linked to the oversupply of the Naira; more Naira were chasing fewer products due to the Buhari government's Ways and means of printing money.

The high level of foreign borrowing witnessed Nigeria's debt profile peaking at $110.

Yes, printing money is one way of creating inflation but monopolies are also another way. Monopolies are so counter productive in many ways and one of them is if you have only one player in an industry, they can set prices to whatever they want but if there is competition then they will be competing with other players for market share afterall consumers tend to want things at good quality and reasonable prices.
Also, the more players you have in the market, the more people they hire and the more they reduce unemployment. This Is one of the major problems with the Nigerian economy. If the govt didn't decide who and who should be a player in the economy (through bribes and other nefarious means) then boy oh boy will the Nigerian economy be soaring right now. The fact that they can't connect their bad policies with the high levels of unemployment we have now is astonishing.

Keep economy aside, Dangote is a business man trying to make profits, nothing more. Do not for once think he's got the interest of the masses at hand. If he was, he'll sell his fuel very cheap so he can alleviate the hardship. But he won't cos he will be at a loss. Now, that's business
Re: Court Documents Show Dangote’s Attempt To ‘monopolize’ Petroleum Industry by Kakysblyz: 6:27am On Nov 08, 2024
It has always been said that Dangote loves Monopoly in all his buisness. He enjoy zero competition.
I was saying it then, the way price of diesel just went up as soon as Dangote started producing.
Then also the price of Petrol jumped from 650 up to what it is today, as soon as Dangote started supplies.
The court should ensure nobody hijack our petrol industry in order not to bring more untold hardship to Nigerians who are already going through a lot.

I really regret supporting this man in his fight with the NMDPRA/NNPC. How can he want the government to ban the importation of a product solely for his benefit? Was that the financial basis for his refinery to be profitable? Well we didn't agree to that.

If imported petrol is cheaper than the locally made one, we will use the imported one and he can sell to the international market as a businessman. NNPC has even raised prices to accommodate him and he's still not satisfied. He wants a monopoly so he can raise the prices even more.

They have no plan to permanently end fuel scarcity.
Yet , they worry about monopoly.

Of course millions of Nigerians love fuel scarcity periods. It creates jobs for extortionists to sell PMS at double the price as black market.

It’s crazy how Nigerians underestimate the need for constant energy sources; yet they’ll be complaining to the govt that things are expensive
Re: Court Documents Show Dangote’s Attempt To ‘monopolize’ Petroleum Industry by Taga001: 7:11am On Nov 08, 2024
I have diverse view on the subject matter but let me stick to this one view of mine! Firstly, there is a PIA which should be followed to the latter unless it is amended. Secondly, monopoly is not favorable to any nation and as such we don't need to delve into that direction. Thirdly, DANGOTE is not here to make petrolatum products affordable to Nigerians unless you can match his pricing template that is why I was against federal government selling crude to him in Naira. He ought to source for dollars himself and compete with those interested in Nigeria's crude. Lastly, I wish the court to the the needful just as it is spelt out in the PIA considering the impact on the nations masses.
