That request wasn't out of place. I have a friend who is sponsoring one kid per family in all his extended family.

I believe him. I've had married women try to ask for me for money. Their logic is that you should have money sitting around because you don't have kids.

What if I turned around to say, why do you have a husband and kids but no money?

Do you see how bad it sounds? Entitled people have audacity.

When someone has this mentality towards their family, they're often just exposing their racism.

I understand that some people will try to squeeze every last dollar out of someone, and I understand that some people in Nigeria think that everyone abroad is rich. But when people complain about helping family, it's rarely because of those reasons.

I am surprised many people calling it entitlement mentality. I believe the woman sees him as someone who is capable with little burden hence she asked him.

Abeg, he is not Tony elumelu. The moment the woman laid the foundation of her request on the basis of the man not having kids yet, she lost the plot. By the way, government need to start punishing parents who clearly gives birth to kids they cant adquately take care of. No way! This happened to a close friend too. The younger brother wanted to send her very problematic daughter to come live with my friend and his wife; when my friend turned him down, he asked: "What's it you spend your money on anyway?" Don't put anything beyond this entitled lot. I just pray they have their own child soon.

I once have sane situation with a sister, she sent me a breakdown of school fees of her daughter that I should pick the one I will be sorting. I was like what the hell is this, till this very moment, I never respond to that msg. So annoying like the pikin no get paper.

In his post, the man recounted receiving a call from this family member, whom he described as someone he barely communicates with.

It is a personal sacrifice he is paying to be able to prepare well towards setting up his nuclear family. If he thinks he is now well comfortable to start paying school fees, he will be married with his own children.
