Nigeria is one big criminal organisation, you don't expect the banks to be different.
Re: What Happens To All The Unclaimed Failed Transactions In Nigerian Banks by chatinent: 6:39pm On Nov 08, 2024
Even if it's ₦100, it's your money and must be reversed.
Re: What Happens To All The Unclaimed Failed Transactions In Nigerian Banks by Govocrete: 6:41pm On Nov 08, 2024
Many Nigerians living or dead enrich the bank. My bank deducted #15 from my account for no just cause. The following morning I was at the bank and it was reversed as error.

When my father died, I decided to obtain a court order to check if my Dad had some left over change in his bank account out of curiosity. At the end of the day, I claim an inheritance of #1.5m plus through the court.

My advise to everyone, always find out the why, and the how following lay down rules and you will recover what is rightfully tours.

What is the scam all about? Let's get enlightened.
Safepal is a scam wallet, you will login using that phrase and probably see lot of money. If you want to transfer or withdraw, they will ask you to pay money for Gas fees and once you pay, they will ask for another money until you got tired and leave.

Information is power
Disinformation is also powerful.
Failed transaction is the subject.
For transaction to be successful, everything must be right
Bank- NIBSS- Telco- Bank
Failure happens when the link gets broken somewhere.
While most banks have auto reversal function, others do not n thus rely on reconciliation team to say this fail n shld return to customer.
Why you might not get your fund.
Diversion/theft: someone might be diverting the reconciled funds
Laxity: someone is not on top of the job.
What happens to the money.
It sits in the unreconciled account for years then it's moved to unclaimed funds for years then ends in earned income I think after 10 years.

Every establishment done in Nigeria be it physically, online e.t.c always have penchant for kleptomania.

Imagine banks withdrawing 20 naira from your bank and they will still do it to other thousands of people that opened account with them, imagine how much they are making on our head. If you want to get peace of mind go and open opay, Kuda is the worst online bank I have ever opened, many of my money that was debited twice that I didn't go after I know say na them chop am.
You're right about Kuda, I have had series of failed transactions with them without refund. I have finally dumped them for Opay.

They started well but fumbled along the way. My mails cc CBN made them to respond and later stopped without refunds till date.
The one that pained me most was the refund jumia did to my Kuda account but Kuda didnt credit me, I engaged Jumia, they provided evidences that refund was processed to my Kuda account but Kuda till date failed to credit my account.

They claim them, it's just like when you pay money into a dormant account they claim it.
Or when they hear that an account holder is dead, they freeze the account.
Licensed to steal.

You can still get your refund back, without breaking a sweat, if you are willing.

It takes just an email.
Tried. Didn't produce much result. They even "blocked" me from replying their mails..
I dash them the N5k

You should have sent an email to the Consumer Protection Department, Central Bank of Nigeria - cpd@cbn.gov.ng. That will settle it asap.

It is your hard earned money. Do not dash them, even if it was 5 years, once you could remember the date of the transaction, that settles it.

I no dey gree for such. Moreover you must not go to the bank to claim such little funds. Use emails to reach out to the customer service. All the times I had such issues, I did a follow with mails and all got reversed.
Many Nigerians that have bank accounts, don't have functional email. Despites most of carry iphone and big Android phone.

So 50% of failed transactions are not reversed automatically and they re not being claimed by owners. Such money will be moved to charge back account. Which about 3 months ago, a first bank staff in charge of customers charge back defrauded the bank billion of naira
