Get yourself an induction cooktop and thanks me later, cheaper than using gas
I almost get an induction cooker: uses electromagnetic to generate heat; but i change my mind to get infared cooker. induction cooker only support steal iron pot to use but i do not know the power consumption of an induction cooker compare to infared cooking.

pls someone should analyze it

1000watts is 1unit if used for an hour. So think twice, especially if you like beans😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Note that this applies if you have full current.
If the current is not that full , the reading becomes slower
Eg if it takes you 1hr to cook beans at full current with 1unit of energy, then it might take you 2hrs or more in medium current to cook the same beans with 0.40 units

That is how it works . I use a cooker of 1000w and it is far cheaper than gas.
I am on band C though

A good hack wink. Any induction material helps you cook faster at lesser energy cost.
So an induction pot could for instance use the same energy for the stove and cook the beans in 1 hr instead of 2.
Is induction pot the same as pressure pot?

Thanks 😔

Is this what you mean?
Yes, . What matters is what the element is made of.. The flat ones consumes less than the coil spring ones.. Only those that kno s the technivlas that knows what I'm talking about... Buy you can Google it... The heating element in it can be made of flat strips or coil springs.. I recommend the flat strips ones..
Re: Is This Electric Cooker Really Prepaid Meter Friendly? by highoctane:
This is an induction cooker.
To maximise its efficiency buy induction cooking pots and pan.
Without them you re shooting yourself in the foot as much as electric consumption is concerned.

To know an induction pot or pan it must be magnetic, that means test the bottom of the pot with a magnet, if it sticks on it good.

Always cover your pot or pan when cooking to accelerate boiling and cooking time .

On the issue whether it consumes electricity, common phones and laptop chargers consumes ample amount of electricity.

What you read online that it doesn't consume electric bills, is it's selling point.

In Europe it might be somewhat understood , they don't cook large pots of rice , yam, stew, soup, and beans in same quantity we do.
There is a difference in boiling water for tea for two persons in a family and six persons .

gbaskiboy:
Buy the fabricated one that most electrical shops sell. Am quite sure that, that very one does not consume much energy with 1.5 unit of light you can use it up to four hours to cook.

Go abroad where electricity is free nah!! You are the reason why many tertiary institutions can't pay their energy bills till date because you were all used to and felt entitled to everything free without wanting to pay that's why everything govt is comatose......if you had been paying what was due and fair,we still wouldn't be complaining about power outages today.

Education is one of the cheapest in Nigeria that's the problem that govt has been having with doctors who train here for almost free and then take their expertise abroad to benefit another society in the name of greener pastures, which ever side you decide to look at it,they both have a point.

You want govt to provide petrol, education, health, jobs, free roads etc but don't ever want to pay tax.
keep quiet, nothing is free or cheap in Nigeria. electricity is cheaper in advanced countries Singapore and china is way higher than in Nigeria.

What you call cheap education is just the entire school cost broken down to give illusion you're paying less. After paying tuition fees you'll still pay hostel, feeding, and buy materials.

Most of you here are very ignorant. No country goes far without subsiding basic necceistiy of life for it's citizens.

As rich as USA it still pays subsidy on fuel, offer long term students loans, and gives many social benefits and credit to it's Citizens.

But you guys want to kill Nigerians with billing without any cushioning effect and have audacity to gaslight them they're not paying enough.huh

Selective amnesia as usual.....its so obvious how unintelligent you are for saying electricity is cheaper in the advanced countries

hasn't tinubu launched same student loans you are worshipping those advanced countries for.....rather than appreciate him and urge him to do more, you start castigating him.

Are you aware govt is still paying subsidy on the electricity you use.....those countries you are praising for subsidising basic necessities for their citizens, are you aware how much tax they pay.....govt is trying to initiate tax reforms and it's still same you procrastinating and crying blue murder on how tinubu wants to tax you to death when infact you aren't even paying any tax whatsoever.

It's easier to criticise but very difficult for you to think of how to make things better.

Not the same

Heat is a form of energy while temperature determines the level (hotness or coldness) of the energy

I would say yes because I own something close.

By default, it takes 1600W and heats faster than the gas powered infra red cooker which I own as well.

It is adjustable to 400W, maybe less but I've not gone below 400W.

Cooking at 1200W will give you a fair heating and because I'm not on Band A, from my observation and analysis of consumption vis-a-viz gas, it is cheaper.

You are correct becasuse this particular one comsume less power. Less than 1 unit does most heavy cookings. since i discovered that it consumes less, Gas has been on holiday except when there is a general electric outage.

Have you checked how much electric bill is in china ? N18 in china compared to N250 per unit in Nigeria.

And for the new launched student loan. That is a complete joke. what is the amount loan given to students.? Plus it's not even up to 6 months. Lol.

Student loan in the US reach N50 million or $30k per year.

Poor people in Us get free food from govt and monthly $800 free benefits.
Plus many other credit benefits. You can never go hungry there.

In essence all basic things are cheap, if they're not govt pays, subsides it, or loan it

But in Nigeria it's the reverse.

even the middle class can't feed Themselves. And yet they still spend all their salaries on bills and taxes with no govt support.

And don't quote me saying no tax in Nigeria. That's the biggest gaslighting ever!

almost Every country in the world pay taxes including Nigeria.

You people will keep comparing apples and oranges by only picking out the narrative that best soothes your despicable inebriated self debasing ego.

Electricity prices per kWh in china is about 7 cents which brings you to about 119 naira but it would be downright criminal to refuse to mention how much subsidy the govt pays in electricity subsidy and how much tax the Chinese pay to their govts.

You delusional deliquent isn't paying any tax in your own country but expect govt to provide everything free.....

You call a student loan that was just launched barely 6 months ago as useless despite already doing about 100b in funds and their are already testimonies to its effectiveness......you are nothing but a preposterously incorrigible empty head.....did America get where they are today in a year or
2.....can you live in same America and get away with your brazen disregard of your basic civic responsibility of paying taxes.
