KosiGee:1. Interesting! So you would ask the offender to (verbally) apologize to the other student. OK! ![]() 2. Teachers are supposed to act as parents to the kids? I don't know about that because students know their parents differently from their teachers. ![]() 3. When I was younger, if my siblings called me stupid, I would report said person to my parents. I am not a parent but a sibling and therefore have no right to meet out punishment against any of my siblings or peers. I was raised that way and continue to live that way to this day. ![]() 4. As a teenager, I may have. Can't quite remember when, but I probably may have during my rebellion stage or something. Anyways, back to the issue at hand... KosiGee:... given your response to the first question, if a student called you stupid, would you then take it on yourself to flog/assault the student even after the example you laid out above to the other student on how to handle similar situation? ![]() |

Melonsmasher:Yes, students can take a lunch or eat school lunch where I live. It all depends on the school, I believe. ![]() When I was in JSS 3, I used to take a lunch box to school. My mom was good about packing us lunches — she didn't believe in having us buy food outside of the house. ![]() |

Allotrope69:Since you are passionate about teaching job, judging from your activities and ruggedness, it may be a way of God preparing you for a life's time assignment. People like you who are so keen in doing other people job as if its their own, end up to become a popular school proprietor in the same environment where they were groomed. When you become a proprietor of a school, you will understand betterwhy they act the way they do.Moreover talking about having sacred cows in any establishment,it's normal as not all staff cannot be the same, there oga favourite and eyes service ones and there are others who don't give a damnn or care.l pray that God will settle you and give you more than you expect in life. |

the teaching job in this country is so discouraging. It favors the students and the management only. No room for growth for the teacher. I once went to a school in my state to get a job, guess what they offered? 25k for a graduate in this current economic situation and I was going to teach three classes(mathematics). Told them on the spot that it's very poor and I'll not be starting at all. I mean I'm not that desperate to be slaving for someone at that meager fee. It's never worth it. |

Kobojunkie:I don’t support capital punishment. I am strictly against it. I wouldn’t flog any kid. I was flogged mercilessly as a child and as a student. I haven’t seen any benefit of flogging. I have worked with children and vulnerable people. I have been treated badly, called stuffs I wouldn’t type here. I have my way of dealing with things like that and one of them isn’t using such language on the person. If a child calls me stupid which wouldn’t happen anyway. I am good with children….they are happy when I’m there and sad when I leave or when they leave. I’ll find it a bit strange that he/she used that language, I’ll ask why….yes depending on the mood, I’ll want to know why he/she said that…if it’s such that I’ll have to escalate it, I would. …Teachers being parents to kids in school environment…perhaps I should’ve used ‘guardians’ but I’m sure you know what I meant. |

Allotrope69:You are the one that created this thread. I think you should be open minded and embrace varying opinions. Supporting that language makes you no better than the child that calls his teacher stupid. Not everyone would agree with you. You should know this. |

Allotrope69:you're unfit to be a teacher. So you're expecting parents of your kids to call you when you're absent and they pay you to trash? You also sent a student to go round his teachers to collect his scores on several subjects. That would take him days and it will take you minutes because the teachers won't even listen to him. That's where I stopped reading your stupidity |

KosiGee:Dat's why I Stopped supporting him. He insults others and CanNOT listen to any contrary opinion. ![]() Does not speak like one who has worked in 9 nine schools, as he claimed But like a 18Year school Cert Teacher waiting for University admission. ![]() If he continues like this, he will still SUFFER even if he changes to another school or profession. ![]() And he is likely a SCAMMER, too! ![]()

Its a business/ competitive mentality the private schools have. It consistent with anything privatized. They are in a state where they are eye balling their competitors. So they try to over compensate with the parents and student so they dont loose them to rival while sticking you under the bus. Your place is always under the bus |

Allotrope69:This is not a school, it's a breeding ground for incompetence and corruption. That proprietress is a failure. |
