When I was interviewing for my present job with a London borough (local government), I was even very comfortable discussing my igbo heritage with the panel, linking it to a question about diversity.

She lived a sheltered live in upper class part of Lagos so why the lies? She left for the UK at age 16 when the military was still in power and armed robbery attacks were very low because culprits when caught were publicly executed. The way she talked is exactly how an average Nigerian talk when they are mixed. That is inferiority complex.

I remembered when I was in medical school and we have some foreign students. Sometimes I want the ground to open and swallow me up cos whenever they open mouth, it's to paint Nigeria as minus zero.
Like they are fortunate to leave.
From the fake accent to always saying back in Africa where I come from and so on.

And it's very easy to identify a Nigerian in any foreign school.
