My 4-year old nephew reported to his mom that their neighbor ( a man in his mid-forties to fifties) put his p*nis in his mouth.

The man is a known dog in the neighborhood that sleeps with anything in skirts because his wife and his baby girl lives in a different state.

My mom doesn’t want us to pursue the matter for the sake of the mental well-being of the boy but I’ve been disturbed ever since I heard and I just can’t let the matter slide.

My brother who happens to be the boy’s dad works in faraway north and he won’t be coming home anytime soon.

I have to go there and handle the matter in his stead until he returns.

Are there any legal means through which we can pursue the case? Is there some child offenders department that I can work with to deal with the he-goat?

I really need avenues that I can explore through legal means to get justice for my nephew, not just for my nephew’s sake but to keep such demonic people off the street for the sake of other young kids out there.

I’m so angry that I can’t tell what I’m capable of doing to the man when I see him.

When someone makes an accusation like the op, you don't start by asking them to assault the accused, when we are not barbarians.

The first thing is to ask the op salient questions like:

1. How was a 4 year old boy left unattended to the point where a supposed pedophile can abuse him ?
2. What proof do you have except for the 4 year old word of mouth ?
3. How soon after the abuse was the incident reported.
4. How did the 4 year old boy report this incident.
5. What other kind of abuse is this 4 year old boy exposed to because from what has been said, the boys parents dropped the boy with op(uncle) and his grandparents and it appears they have failed in their responsibilities to properly monitor the child.

To be honest the whole incident seems strange to me as it is to you but let me clarify some misconceptions;

1. I don’t live with them. The boy lives with his mom and grandmother happened to be visiting during the time of the incident. I live in a different state within the same region.

2. Apart from what the boy said, there is no strong evidence because I don’t expect him to have a phone to capture such incident. But then, they have been living in the same compound for almost two years and no one expects that the environment was unsafe for the boy to play around. The man had always exhibited the act of sleeping with both single and married women inside and outside the area but no one took him for a child molester.

3. The matter was filed at the police station yesterday but the incident was said to have happened on Saturday evening. The gender unit was notified this morning.

4. I can’t go into how he described it because I find it nauseating but the boy is smart enough to narrate how it happened. To further affirm the accusation, the man ran off a day after the incident.

5. The boys parent did not drop him with his grandparents. The boy alongside his siblings lives with their mom while the Dad works and visits from time to time. The grandmother was on a visit when the incident happened and I do not live with them.

The matter has been filed at the police station and the gender unit notified. I was later told the man ran off immediately after the incident which further corroborates the victim’s account but he can only run, he can’t hide.
