The Bible says in Eccl.3.1 - There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

I completely agree to the fact that Christians shouldn't use the time meant for work or other useful things to pray. That's like being zealous in the wrong way, we should love and do the things of God but in the proper way:

Prov.19.2 - It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.

Prayer in itself is something that should be done always in the heart not necessarily at defined times. As Christians we must learn to understand the difference between being righteous and being religious.

Work and Pray brethren at the right times, that's how it should be done.

In all this, if you are still living in sin, and still engaging in any religious activity, you are wasting effort and time.

Sin is our number one enemy, deal with it first before engaging with God

Don't just claim you know God, Make sure you use your words and character to preach Christ, let people feel God's holiness and love in you extending to them.

Be kind. Be polite. Be respectful. Be humble. Be diligent. Be Honest.

If you want churches to build industries, let government give the churches money to build. You should not expect people to steal the nation's money, while the church does what the government should do. The church can do their part, but they are not the government.

People are trying to defend what he said. I don't buy that. This was a man that was moving from one church to another before the election even at night.
Secondly, he makes it look as if the night vigil was the cause of Nigeria problem. I am sure the reason he said that was perhaps Nigerians should be fighting the government instead of that they are spending time to be praying rather than taking the country for themselves.
When protesters were jailed for months, tell me what Obi and Atiku did. See something here, Atiku, Obi and the rest people that the election never favoured should be the once leading protest in Nigeria if they were actually serious and meant well for Nigeria. That was what opposition did before the 2015 election. Making reference to the church was completely nonsense talk because the percentages of churches that engaged in such a practice are not even up to 1.5 percent of the general churches around.
Obi problem is trying to impress people by dropping some punchline. What he said, to me was worrisome and most people defending that rhetorics are his people the Igbos who they themselves are beginning to abandoned Christianity, so why should I take their defence very serious and some talk BS over that as though church is their problem.
Lastly, it should be known that religion is not the greatest problem but those who have used it for their advantages. The top 7 religious country in the world are better than Nigeria.
