The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has secured an agreement with Dangote Refinery to lift products directly.

IPMAN National President Abubakar Garima announced this in Abuja on Monday after a meeting of the National Working Committee of the Association.

He said the partnership will ensure steady, affordable supply of PMS products nationwide.

“After meeting with Alh. Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, we’re pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets.”

Garima urged IPMAN members to support Dangote Refinery, citing backward integration benefits and positive impacts on Nigeria’s Foreign Exchange market.

“IPMAN members should rely on Dangote Refinery and Nigerian Refineries for white products, creating more job opportunities and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.”

Regarding pricing, Garima expressed confidence that negotiations with Dangote would yield lower rates.

On Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), The IPMAN President said the Association is preparing for a seamless transition to CNG refill stations nationwide.

“CNG has immense potential to boost Nigeria’s economy. IPMAN is committed to supporting this initiative and partnering with the Federal Government for its success.”

This partnership is expected to increase efficiency, affordability, and economic growth for Nigeria’s petroleum industry.

The Dangote Refinery, the largest in Africa and Europe, has already commenced production of diesel and aviation fuel, with plans to supply products to over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide.

This move is expected to eliminate middlemen, reduce costs, and ensure steady supply.

Only for us to wake up next week with IPMAN claiming no such deal was ever made. If we can use nearly a year to make a deal for the supply of ordinary fuel, what exactly was the reason I was so optimistic about Nigeria for? This country is gone for good.

That one concern them. Since this refinery started operations it’s been one story or the other.

When they were holding his neck Dangote came out to cry for public sympathy. Now that the ball is in his court, one nonsense gist or the other. He can drink his petrol or shove it up his behind.

The moment the refinery commenced operations, the supply value chain should have been concluded almost at the same time. Why is it that the most basic and simple things mystify the leaders in this country? They bring their wanton and civilization destroying greed into everything, and the people who are nonthewiser suffer the consequences. Kai! Almost one year to agree a deal to park trailer, load product and go? Nahhh, this country is gone.

Did you observe how the fuel pump price in Nigeria is not coming down even as crude oil price reduces internationally.. that's because the best the establishment can do for you is not to increase the price anymore for a while.. price reduction no dey their dictionary.

I have observed that Once they are happy with what is happening, the queues would vanish. Now you can actually drive up to any fueling station and buy any amount you desire. In Abuja, at 1,130. Exploitative!!

Nothing that goes up here ever comes down.

They only agreed to patronise the greedy Monopolist Dangote cos he lowered his prices.

The minute Dangote starts behaving like a thief IPMAN should immediately start importing.

And IPMAN should watch out for northern members within its ranks. Dangote can get to them easily to sabotage the association so he can start dictating price unilaterally like he's doing in the cement sector.

I know Dangote will heavily fund another northern presidential candidate who will block all imports to favour Dangote.

Dangote should know that doing this will make him more hated in Nigeria and there are plenty of persons who won't hesitate to fund efforts to crumble his refinery.

If your refinery is of no benefit to ordinary Nigerians then it has no reason to exist except to feed your greed
