For every neighborhood with steady power there are many others with awful electricity. We literally have Bands.

Tinubu has done nothing on power.

Your friend will buy a generator at 400K. Power it with gasoline at 1100/liter (12,000 for six hours) for the next few months.
Mid next year, he'll start enjoying power again.
The seasonality is GEJ and Buhari legacy. The outrageous cost of off-grid energy solutions is T-pain's contribution.

This is from 2013.

How else do you describe failure?

Heck, this vandalism you're lamenting about intensified partly because of T-pain's economic policies.
How will there not be worsening vandalism when a liter of gasoline increased from 200 to 1100 in only 18 months.
Bag of rice is 110K and December surcharge is still on the horizon.
Enjoy your working adopted country in peace. Don't insult the sensibilities of Nigerians.

this is how we do
refurb your petrol gen by buying engine only at 180k

10kg of lpg [was 12k now 13.5k] will power a 3.5kva gen for 14 to 16 hours

i may be going back to basics - buy a 2kva gen - that may run for over 30 hours on 10kg

split between 2kva and 3.5 kva
Na e say e friend b get two generators. He gave one out.
So he might want to get another. He had his reasons for owning 2.

Sumec 3000 (2.5KVA) is above 400K.
https://www.sumecplaza.com/products/sumec-firman-spg3000e2
Or the marginally less expensive manual start variant.
It's the archetypal middle class generator.

I agree with you on the other cost-cutting suggestions.

That's what happened I also have two sumec 3 kva and 3.5. They were dead. Burning through oil, repair every week. But I did not have 900k+ disposable to buy two brand new. And then I found you can just buy the half engine for like 180k, swap your gen engine. You can do it at their office in Apapa for 20k or you can buy the engine and do it yourself. And that is what I did. The rest of the generator (tank etal has mainly cosmetic degradation. Just a tip for anyone out there

to be fair to t-pain - the vandalism is the terrorists and bandits upping the ante.
Assuming 3hrs per use each day, that'd come to like 60K per month...and this is for the cheaper LPG shocked

You can maybe get more hours out of petrol if your gen has a new carburator

But when did cooking gas become cheaper than petrol today?

For where ? undecided

Cooking gas is N1,500 per kg at NNPC , while PMS is N1,025 per liter at the same NNPC

Oh...okay then, just checked, 1 litre is approximately 1kg.

I guess GloriousG did his conversion when LPG was a lot cheaper than PMS...there's no hiding place from TPain economy it seems grin

Can't say since I don't have

However it seems cng is more of infrastructure cost. It is n200/litre.

But the tank is 400k.

Also no proper spread.

There is a new nnpc cng station at ilasa. I was working on a project close by so I decided to walk in and confirm how much they are selling. Anddd... Nothing. They had just done a meaningless launching ceremony.

If you live around berger there is a nipco cng station. After the no longer oando station with a KFC.

[color=royalblue]You can run, but you cannot hide.

There really aren't much alternatives to reducing power costs..CNG is still limited to very few states.

Conversion of your petrol gen is no biggie. Just buy the carburator. 20k or thereabouts.
. Can be fixed by any competent gen mechanic.

It is the cost of lpg cylinder which may now be 30k plus that adds to your cost. The carburator is allegedly cng/lpg/petrol. So what I need in theory is the cng bottle only. And maybe a hose. That I can't say right now.

LPG is currently cheaper than pms - don't use like for like. 12k is now 11 litres and that is not going to carry your gen for 6 hours

Also I am buying 1350/kg

Govt has supposedly stopped lpg export so the price will drop but here we are.

Also from Google

To convert kg to litres LPG: LPG conversion kg to litres is 1 kg = 1.96 litres. So, 1 kg LPG gas is 1.96 liters of LPG (convert LPG kg to litres). For example, there are 29.4L litres of LPG in a 15kg cylinder.25 Jul 2023
However what you don't have is the rate of burn/combustion. I am just doing price per hour rule of thumb.

Well, I don't have an idea whether it takes the same time to burn 1kg of LPG & 1 liter of PMS. I was only pointing it out to Theflint1 that a liter of PMS costs more than a kg of LPG.

I asked the price of LPG at NNPC filling station and they told me N1,500. I bought it for N1,350 at a gas plant elsewhere sha

I've seen the video ,and no I won't jizz my pants.Thats just common sense ,hamas went looking for trouble and they got it ,if they want to end this war they should release hostages.

But the thing is ,these hamas members know they'll have no purpose if they free hostages, they are walking dead , fighting Israel just gives them purpose to live.

Anyways I need to see workings before I actually "jizz" my pants, talk is one thing, action is another thing.

This doesn't even make any sense.

We are talking of areas that are neither residential nor their C of O has been issued. Nobody is talking about a land that has already been acquired with full title; they are virgin lands which belong to the state government by law.

This ur forced attempt at sarcasm is not "Sarcasing " at all. Rest!
So which part of Ikorodu with good road for lawma trucks to traverse in your quick fix plan, you would ask land owners not to develop their lands, because of your emergency rule?

You guys type a lot of things that in reality would meet brick wall and funds wasted. That's why we have abandoned projects scattered all over the place due to litigations against governments illegalities.

Have they done a report that revealed this to you or your own opinion as an investigative journalist? grin

Just as you hold a view obviously to hammer Tpain's administration, an APC member could prove to you that it's the handiwork of his political opponents/detractors, to undermine his administration.

A Phcn boss may even say they are carried out by Generator/spare parts importers, and it sounds brilliant to every Sodiki and Ambali.

All these are mere guesses that should be thrown into the trash can until an official report comes up, with arrests made.
