All I can say is that, with T-pain at the helm of affairs Nigeria is going no where. You must be foolish to be waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel, because there will be None We all won't be alive to see the a better Nigeria take it or leave it. ![]() |

The way naira is going it will be devalued for a very long time ..world bank and IMF have asked for the naira to be devalued and tinubu being the lackey that he is will oblige them ....You want FDI but you have not developed the infrastructure for investors to put their money in nigeria but you will let nigerians suffer instead. When the time comes he will change policies |

Tayorshd87:Just look at this economic dunce illiterate asking what is our problem with dollar. What do you think is the cause of the incessant inflation we have today that is over 100%. You said you should consume what we produce , is there any nation in the world today thats totally self sufficient and does not import one thing or the other? Nigeria is even the least country that's import dependent because we import every basic thing, hospital drugs, fertilizers, farm machineries and even feeds for chickens which is why you are buying one egg now for 500 are imported into this country, yet you are asking why we are concerned about dollar when our very existence as Nigerians depends on dollars because we don't produce anything and even the raw materials for the few ones we produce are imported into the country . |

People just gurgle out nonsense after taking some shepe early in the morning! How do you stop imports? Even developed nations like the US, GB, Japan, China, Australia, etc., still import massively. By the way, have you told your leaders to stop importing their foreign official vehicles and presidential jets first? Tayorshd87: |

Let's dump the dollar and forge our own path! I know it sounds unthinkable now, but we'll have to do it somehow if we ever hope to break the economic chockhold that the west has on us. We have to diversity our economy. We have to leverage on exports. We have to produce our own food & goods. We have to stop importing junk from west. We have to deal decisively with corruption. We have to empower our youths. We have to emphasize merit. We have to be patriotic! It's a long shot, but we have to try! |

Blazetrailer:Yes u are right and besides d so called developed countries that import also build create and provide what they want massively rather than Nigeria that only base his economy 98% on importation ... Can u see d difference |
| Re: Naira Appreciates To N1,730/$ In Parallel Market by Tayorshd87(m): 8:12am On Nov 14, 2024 |
Kobojunkie:US import rate is like 30% unlike Nigeria that's we are or survive 98% through import and no nation can develop with such 🤔 All our lives and daily survival are base on import so when are we going to become America 🤔 and be part of the developed countries 🤔 |
| Re: Naira Appreciates To N1,730/$ In Parallel Market by Blazetrailer: 8:27am On Nov 14, 2024 |
Lol... 98% ? I am sure you dont know what you are talking about...you just decided to echo what the market women and Ladipo traders gorge out. The 2022 statistics showed Nigeria import was about 28% of its GDP(WTO data) No country is import proof. Make sure you have your facts and data before you respond to me o! I revel in making people doubt their education here on Nairaland l. Tayorshd87: |
| Re: Naira Appreciates To N1,730/$ In Parallel Market by Tayorshd87(m): 11:09am On Nov 14, 2024 |
Blazetrailer:Yes what am trying to tell u is that .. In china dey import almost 1% of foreign goods but produce 99.9 % of their materials and export to countries like Nigeria and we depend on what they produce .. So if china crash today and burn down to ashes then Nigeria is in a mess already since we don't have means to create or build ours .. The government are not wrong for closing the borders and discouraging importation but where they are wrong is that they should make sure they work on how we produce first before embarking on the journey . But it's a way to open and unlock our creative mind and abilities to make Nigeria a developed nation someday like america UK Canada etc |
