Yes and the same Japan won't renew your visa once your tenure expires.... My guy got 5 years visa after that he had to go... So he relocated to Korea..... Japanese have strict immigration policy
Why did the company not renew his visa? Many Nigerians have had their visas renewed. So why was his not renewed?

I don't know yours avenue..... My guy went in as a teacher.... He learned Japanese language on his own.... So he got the job in Kobe
His salary was either too low after five years or he did not work with an established firm or? There are a thousand and one Nigerians who teach and are now permanent residents.

grin

Everywhere on Facebook people are crying they deny them visa ask them. They will say visiting visa, tourist visa. One said she was fasting n sowing seed grin grin
Why will they grant every Tom dick... When 99% wont returned back? The white understand that Nigeria is in crises n people want to japa...
If u want to japa and increase ur chances of visa approval then spend money on their school or have a valuable skills n apply for jobs from here
That is because they work with agents who deceive them that visiting visa can be converted to work visa. I don't know why people use agents to apply for a visa. Anyone who wants a visit visa should be stupendously rich or work with an established firm and the firm handles the visa processing except for the final submission by the applicant.

Walai this is how it should be ooo
It is true the payment is after the visa gets approved. However, should the visa be denied, the applicant cannot apply for any kind of visa for the next six months. Also, a visit/tourist visa cannot be converted to a work visa.

I see. Then his salary was not enough to warrant another visa and/or he could not get another high paying job/role with a higher salary band. The applicant can apply for a work visa by him/herself, but the employing organisation must provide the required documents. The issue is between him and his employer, not the Japanese government's policy.

The bold is because the financial requirements to issue a new work visa for a single person differs from a married person with a child.

The language is very important in getting good jobs. For a Japanese company to employ someone outside the country, especially a non-Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese who resides outside the country, it means the person is good. For this reason, companies that do it are tech firms as they are willing to overlook the language deficiency in return for tech/coding knowledge (which would have been assessed during the recruitment process). For Americans and Europeans, they can get transferred to the Japanese office. Westerners who move here without a company transfer tend to be men who married Japanese women, worked in American military bases across the country or those who have a likeness/desire for Japan. This is where the English teaching route comes - a means to an end, but should never be the end as it is a glorified WAEC tutor role. The person is not a recognised teacher by any standard.

In summary, the best way to have companies employ a foreigner is to be in the country. There are very few companies that are willing to employ a foreigner who does not speak Japanese and is not supported by a company inter-transfer.

Japan don't even take visa fees at all until your visa is approved
