Fool, for 10ys, the Kiev government has been waging a genocidal war on eastern Ukraine's Russian speaking people.

The genocide was aimed for a myriad of reasons but most importantly to drive the Russian speaking people out of their resource rich and very fertile lands.

The Russian speaking regions then conducted a referendum on staying or leaving Ukraine and the overwhelming population there agreed to leave Ukraine.

But Kiev refused to accept the referendum despite the fact that the Ukrainian constitution has a referendum for secession which every region can activate without recourse to the central government.

Kiev then ramped up the attacks and deployed the Azov militia to commit war crimes on the people of Eastern Ukraine. Many fled to Russia while some dug in to fight the Banderist.

Russia then stepped in and brokered a peace agreement with Germany as an observer nation. That agreement is the Minsk Agreement and it called for greater autonomy for the Eastern regions.

Then Zelensky came and tore the agreement despite promising to reunite the country peacefully and to strengthen ties with Russia during his campaigns for office.

Russia was then forced to come to the rescue of the hapless citizens of Eastern Ukraine and officially absolved them into the Russian Federation. The ongoing war is happening because Ukraine refuses to abide not only by the Minsk Agreement but it's own constitution that allows any region to secede on their own volition.

As I said, if you don't know what's behind the ongoing war in Ukraine, better just shut up.
