Good morning,

I got a starlink kit recently and just realised there is no residential plan in NG for now, I made the purchase before seeing this thread, but nevertheless, I wanted going for the business plan but I was inputting my exact location and kept on getting "No services are available at this address. Please try a different address." but some neighboring areas not too far seems to have the business plan available.

please what is this solution/suggestion for such scenario?

Pick the nearby address as your service address as long as it is not more than 5Km away from you

I had similar experience months ago about slow speed, they concluded either the cable or the router had issue, they sent me new router and cable free, few days later the speed came back to normal 170Mbps to 240 Mbps at night, I didn't replace them just kept them at home and it's over 8 months now
Nonso92:
UPDATE
I reached out to starlink to complain about my slow Internet issue, and they concluded that my kit had a gps issue, that why my Internet has been poor.
They sent over a new kit and even offered me one month free subscription.
I just installed the new kit today and I have been monitoring the internet.
Previously I was getting under 5mbps at every speed test, but now it's gone up to 20. I'm guessing there might be an update on the new kit, then the speed would improve.

Your case is different. If your Starlink dishy's gps is having issues, it takes an unusual amount of time to connect to a satellite. It could take up to 30mins or longer to lock on to a satellite after a reboot. It can be nightmarish during bad weather. Starlink replaces the whole kit if it's a gps issue, not just the dishy.

After activating and finally got a card that worked, I am stucked with "Unexpected location. Please use your Starlink at its registered address".

Please what's the solution to this

Did you buy/order from Starlink directly or 3rd party?

3rd party, so I changed the service area to another location that was farther and it worked, it's online now.

Please I will like to ask, after subscribing to business plan, can you downgrade to RESIDENTIAL plan? Or you're locked to BUSINESS PLAN?

When and if Residential or Roaming plans ever become available for subscription, you will be able to switch.

Unfortunately, I used our office address in lekki phase 1.

I have tried the change service location to ibadan, ilorin etc and didn't work

I even changed the address in the account settings as well..didn't work as well

If it allowed you to activate the Business plan at the location and indeed, you are still in that location, then you have a legitimate reason to open a service ticket and complain to support.

However, make sure that the service address is same as the one you used in activating the plan. Then remove the router plug from power source and plug it back in. If it still doesn't work, contact Starlink support.

Thanks but I have a concern, if one isn't locked to business plan, then how do existing RESIDENTIAL subscribers then subscribe because I wanna to think of that workaround to save cost

At the moment, Starlink has suspended activation of Residential and Roaming plans through out Nigeria. When, eventually, Starlink opens up those plans and made available at your service address, you can switch to those plans.
