Support the Four Bloggers Facing Unjust Prosecution: Sign the Petition to Protect Free Speech in Nigeria

Four Nigerian bloggers—Precious Eze, Olawale Rotimi, Rowland Olonishuwa, and Seun Odunlami—are currently under trial for allegedly cyberstalking and publishing false allegations against Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) and its CEO, Segun Agbaje. These bloggers are facing serious charges, including conspiracy, extortion, and the spreading of misleading information on social media. The bloggers are accused of publishing false claims, such as “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed GTBank over Segun Agbaje’s N1 trillion scam” and exposing alleged nepotism and power plays by Segun Agbaje, which the prosecution argues were intended to harm the reputation of GTCO.

As a result, the bloggers have been remanded in custody, and their trial is ongoing. However, this case is about much more than just these four individuals—it is about freedom of expression and the ability to criticize powerful institutions without fear of retaliation. If the prosecution of these bloggers continues unchecked, it could have a chilling effect on independent media, making it harder for Nigerians to speak freely or expose corruption without risking legal consequences.

Why Your Signature Matters

By signing the petition, you are not only standing up for these bloggers but also defending the principle that journalists, bloggers, and citizens should be free to express their opinions without fear of unjust legal action. If this case goes unchallenged, it could send a message that criticism of influential companies or individuals will not be tolerated and could be punishable by law.

Signing the petition will:

1. Raise Awareness about the threats to free speech in Nigeria.
2. Support the bloggers in their fight for justice and help alleviate the emotional and financial toll they are enduring.
3. Put pressure on authorities to reconsider the case and protect the rights of citizens to express their opinions without fear.

How Your Signature Will Help

Your signature will contribute to a growing movement that demands justice. It sends a strong message to Nigerian authorities that the world is watching, and we will not stand idly by while these bloggers are persecuted for speaking out. A successful petition will not only help these bloggers but will also protect the rights of all Nigerians to speak freely.

How to Sign the Petition

1. Visit the Petition Page: Click on this [link to the petition](https://www.change.org/justiceforthebloggers) to go to the petition page.
2. Enter Your Details: Provide your name and email address to ensure your signature is counted.
3. Add a Comment (Optional): Leave a personal message of support for the bloggers to show your solidarity.
4. Click "Sign": Once you’ve filled in your details, simply click the “Sign” button.
5. Spread the Word: Share the petition with friends and family and on social media to help gather more signatures.

What Happens Next?

Once the petition gains momentum, it will be delivered to Nigerian authorities, putting pressure on them to ensure the case is handled fairly. This petition will remind them of the international support these bloggers have, and encourage a review of the legal proceedings that could affect the fundamental rights of all Nigerians.

Final Thoughts

The prosecution of these four bloggers is not just about one case—it’s about defending freedom of speech in Nigeria. [Sign the petition today](https://www.change.org/justiceforthebloggers) and show your support for free expression, press freedom, and justice. Together, we can ensure that these bloggers are not silenced and that the fundamental right to speak out is protected for everyone in Nigeria.

My family members are not stupid enough to pick fights with an entity worth over N1 trillion naira. I saw some of their posts here too, attacking gtb and discresiting Segun. They should face the consequences of their actions.

He's right. Taking them to court will afford them the opportunity to defend themselves.
I listened to what they blogged about and I knew that your so called bloggers is nothing but wicked people determined to ruin others.
Why do they need my signature when they were originally out to ruin an enterprise built by sweat and efforts of others.
Freedom of speech is about saying the truth.
Those bloggers are simply evil and should face their cross squarely. Maybe this will bring a bit of sanity to Nigeria.

While accountability is vital, it's important not to judge solely based on allegations without due process. These bloggers deserve a fair trial to defend themselves, as justice should be impartial and humane. Prolonged detention affects not just them but also their families, who are innocent in this matter. Let’s advocate for fairness, ensuring the truth prevails without unnecessary suffering. After all, justice is not just about punishment—it’s about fairness, balance, and upholding dignity for all involved, with all due respect just keep quiet definitely this article wasn't meant for you.
