This Morning, the 15th day of November 2024, I was cleaning my house when a woman knocked. She ask if she can come in or we talk outside, I asked her to come inside.

She introduced herself as a neighbor in the neighborhood, I don’t really know her. She said her child is a sickle cell patient and he is admitted at the hospital , she said test shows the child lacks blood and she don’t have any money to buy blood And her husband works in Lagos. Went further to say the husband said he will be able to raise money in the evening and what the hospital is requesting is 40k and she asked me to loan her 40k. Out of compassion, I went to nearby pos agent, withdrew 10k gave her and told her not to worry about paying back. I took her number so that I can check up on her, although my spirit was suspicious but the soft heart in me won’t listen. Long story short I decided to clear my curiosity called her I was coming to the hospital, she said ok, got there she said she just went to a nearby town to get something’s from her husband’s brother😂and the background shows she is at home . Then I realized I was scammed. I wasn’t pained but disappointed, how do I help a person who genuinely needs help next time. Let us be observant out there.

Most Nigerians are ungrateful. I sent someone 8kn2years ago,abt 2days to Xmas. As soon as the person got it,he went to buy delicate rice,turkey and beer for himself his useless friends and could not call me back to say thank you,or he received it.secondly i lent someone 20k,the person refused to pay back and then fights me.lastly I gave out a power bank,to return it back became war and the person also dared me and put up a physical fight with me..on top my own property.i left them all for karma

Some years ago my neighbor came to me lied to me that her brother was admitted in a hospital in akwa ibom and the family need 80,000 for oxygen that the put on the brother to breathe. She told me I should lend her 20,000 to complete the money and send to the family. To cut the story short, my ex- wife later confess to me that she went and borrow money from Lapo and they threatened to come and pack her things that is why she cook all the story of his brother been on oxygen to get money from me and pay Lapo people.

You see don't ever pity Nigerian when the come and meet you for assistance.

If her husband said he would raise the money in the evening, you should have asked her to wait for him. If it was an emergency, he would raise the cash immediately, and by any means possible.

I think the woman is just an audacious and entitled scammer. Imagine demanding for a loan of 40K just like that! Even Dangote wouldn't give that much if you asked him. Next time, probe a beggar further before you lend a hand.

Anytime you are operating with your kind heart, you are operating from a position of weakness.

You would soon be crucified...
