Today is the Governorship election in Ondo state... What most people don't know is I'm partly from Ondo, Royal blood of Igbokoda to be precise in ilaje LGA Not only is my grand mother a princess from Igbokoda, 3 of my aunties are married to Igbokoda men So I have kin interest in Ondo election's.. It used to be the most well ran elections in Nigeria along with Anambra... These two states usually have nice well conducted elections From quality of candidates, to debates to the electorate making of choices But honestly No one seems to care about today elections, Twitter, Facebook, even here no one cares just very few news... Is this the sign that Nigerians have lost hope in INEC completely ? What ever it is this is a very bad sign , People loosing hope in electoral system always comes before the collapse of the nation It's sad |

Nigerians have lost hope in the capacity of INEC to conduct a free, fair, and credible electoral process. The enthusiasm is no longer there, which is why I suggest that the funds allocated to INEC for conducting elections be channeled into something more meaningful. |

No one in your circle cares. Apart from followers of the party that fell from Top to bottom, all others are still very much interested in the outcome of the election. |

Actually Inec had the greatest opportunity in 2023 elections to prove that votes count and to restore people's confidence in elections. Bit they failed woefully I was in a state they said APC won, but the state was like graveyard from the Saturday news of result manipulation started filtering in till more than one week after election. You could feel the disappointment, the anger, the sorrow. Tell me such a state will experience massive voter turn out in the near future again |

Zionmdde:You lie, there was massive jubilation in Edo state after Monday was declared... Obidients are not interested in ondo because they know it's a walkover |

Okoroawusa:Shut up and stop derailing the thread with your boring obidients cries ![]() The major contender is pdp so why are you sounding so hoplesssly senseless cry Obidient on this thread? Pdp know very well that Apc has already won the election/Selection, PDP don see rigging above all riggings ![]() |

Okoroawusa:Exactly! It is not even a contest but an affirmation. All the would be losers know that already, so nothing newsworthy about an event that the outcome is 100% predictable. |

The followers of Lienus are trying so hàrd to paint INEC bad, if they win, INEC did the right thing, otherwise, INEC is corrûpt. There's no polling unit on social media, elections get noisy on social media only when the followers of Lienus are involved, since they are not involved in Ondo that's why it's quiet. |

mrvitalis:So can you speak or comprehend Yoruba? If you don't speak Yoruba or understand Yoruba then that explains why you are in the dark about the goings-on in Ondo state. Ondo state is a very strategic state in Yorubaland and Nigeria. The state is so important that it has dominated conversations in political circles in the South West for about 6 weeks now. In fact, different political blocs in APC and PDP are slugging it out for permutations and political relevance. This is a serious election that has no time for useless online engagement with people who have no voter's card and/or won't be voting in the election. The indigenes of Ondo state and the states that border Ondo are very serious about the election and most of the engagement is done in Yoruba which is a dominant language over English in the state. To a non-Yoruba speaker, you are completely cut off niyen. |

senatordave1:I am not in the core north. I stated what happened in the state I was where they declared apc winner in that state. Yet the entire state was thrown into a sorrowful mood for over one week after election |

mrvitalis:There is no much noise about Ondo State election because it’s a one way ride to the state house for APC. PDP is dead in the state and your useless LP has no candidate due to the internal crisis caused by Peter Obi. So, the opposition who should be challenging the incumbent party should have themselves to blame for failing woefully to put up a serious contest. APC will not help PDP and LP to put their houses in order. Congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and all supporters of APC. It’s been two governorship election victories in a row. This is victory for democracy. |
