This is the very issue we as a people have.

Selective obedience . A preacher or let's even say a speaker came up to speak and a Phone rang. He then WARNED and said phones ringing while he preaches OBSTRUCTS the flow of his anointing and if it REPEATS itself, he will stop his sermon and leave. Then another phone rang. He Stops preaching and takes his sit and all of a sudden he has pride.

Meanwhile same people calling it pride and arrogance will approach check points and won't pick calls. Many will pass CBN buildings and hide their phones by just mere reading the sign Posts. Many have been sent out of exam halls for same character but all of a sudden the man of God has pride and arrogance.

Many of you as teachers in schools have even disciplined students for similar act and most lecturers have walked out of classes for similar act.

I respect that man for standing by his own words and not caring about anyone's opinion.

What if the person was used by the devil in an attempt to hinder the gospel that day, it means that he clearly fell for it and cooperated with the devil.

You can't preach Christ and not be humble. He has failed a simple test of humility.

Jesus said "Satan, tempt not their Lord your God". The pastor should have done same and castigate the fellow in a subtle and polite way.

Many of u need to learn a few things:

Many musicians write their albums or songs or perform in stage under very strict conditions.

I once read about a certain artist who doesn't want to smell someone's fart when preparing to sing( I think Pavarotti).

Others like a dark place to write.
There are dimensions to these things.

I knew Arome many years ago when he started. He was wrong for exiting the pulpit In Anger. You can't have the holy spirit in you and get easily irritated with the slightest provocation. You left Nigeria to preach in another country and because a phone rang, you angrily left the pulpit? How would your host react?

Unfortunately, phones will never stop ringing. People who attend church come from all walks of life, some are first-timers, others are, in themselves, not disciplined.

Reminds me of back in school, lecturers also have this policy but at the end, there is always that one person.

Picture this, imagine a suicidal person came to church, hoping to listen to the word of God, looking forward to hear something or someone to give him hope.
Imagine the number of people that needed to hear the word of God that day. Imagine the evil and sins that would have been prevented if that pastor preached. But he got irritated and refused to fulfill his purpose. It's a shame. He showed no respect for his employer (God)
Remember the words of Christ to Peter, "Feed my sheep."
That day, the said pastor left the sheep to starve.

The only time Jesus isolates himself from the people is when he wants to pray and at that he will still go with at least 3 disciples to do that....

Exactly my point stop with the straw man arguments. They were doing the wrong thing in the house of God whether it’s merchandise or causing distractions by whatever means. You understand the point I’m trying to make stop twisting what is not there to twist.

Though it is advisable to put your phone on silence, it is possible to forget and the phone rings while in the presence of dignitaries. I once watched a media conference of Obama while he was president and the phone of one of the journalist rang, Obama saw the funny side of it. I work with high level political dignitaries and my phone has rang once too in a meeting the governor was seated and it was loud. Nothing happened, he just looked at my direction and moved on with the meeting.

And besides, the person whose phone rang might be a first timer. I think the action of the Pastor was a bit drastic
