It's well! Yoruba people used to be intelligent both educated and non educated. But today, the reverse is the case. An elderly woman in Oka Akoko actually casts her vote for APC because of inducement, the APC agents refused to compensate the woman which resulted into fight. The incident happened at my pooling unit. When i was growing up as a little boy,we were taught to be contented with what we have. Today, elders who supposed to be role model to the young one are more corrupt. Maybe due to poverty in the land or what! What can 5k APC induced money buy in today's Tinubu regime. Truly, poverty is a disease

Normally all the politicians in Ondo would support the governor knowing that he is only going to do a term more. Same thing happened to Harris in America. Trump was definitely supported by all parties directly and indirectly knowing fully well he would only do a term 😐😐

The only business of APC leaders is use government instruments and institutions to win every election to drive Nigeria to become Islamic Republic of Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal laws.

It's been almost ten years. Nigeria is still not an islamic country.

Buhari that actually said that Sharia was going to be the law of Nigeria, he took over and forgot about what he said until the last day of office. Even when he put a sharia judge in charge of the supreme court, the said judge had to rule accoriding to secular laws.

Tinubu that is probably not serious about his religion won't shariase Nigeria.

No one is going to make Nigeria sharia compliant. The only countries where that can work is where muslims hold something like at least 80% of the population. Or where most muslims follow one sect. Anything else is asking for perpetrual crisis, which would at the end of the day benefit no one.

Buhari was blabbing about sharia to build his base in the North. Once he did that, that was the end. When he was running for election in 2014, nothing for sharia . Same thing in 2019.

The problem is that most of those selling their votes don't even realise what they are doing.
They are being prodded to see the money as a gift from govt.
And for people who are uneducated, poor and heavily impoverished, how do you convince them that collecting money for their votes is bad?

The woman innocently said they voted and they collected money. The people around her had to tell her to stop saying that. It's obvious she was unaware of the implication of what she said.
What it shows is that vote buying is now mainstream in Nigeria's electoral culture
Her main request for the incoming governor was ending hunger and poverty. That shows you that she did not realise she just sold her vote. She saw the money as reward for voting and a sign of more to come yet evil people like you will be defending such rubbish

Vote buying is more common during off cycle elections.General elections like last year has more components so vote buying is limited.It seems the election in Ondo is quite transparent ( apart from the vote buying ) unlike in Edo where Wike sent his cousin as Edo REC and they changed all the figures at INEC headquarters so they could declare APC candidate winner to spite Obaseki.It seems in Ondo the votes counted though many people sold their votes.

Irrespective of the general feelings towards the tyrant in government, so long we weaponised poverty and illiteracy, anybody can buy the people even with a cube of sugar. Edo and Ondo are a testament to this.
