No, he was sworn in as governor after the demise of his boss. He would now be starting his second tenure and can’t be sworn in more than twice
well it’s still subject to constitutional review….if that was the case then Jonathan shouldn’t have contested for 2nd term

How does one negate the other
Have you seen the video?
The woman innocently said they voted and they collected money. The people around her had to tell her to stop saying that. It's obvious she was unaware of the implication of what she said.
What it shows is that vote buying is now mainstream in Nigeria's electoral culture
Her main request for the incoming governor was ending hunger and poverty. That shows you that she did not realise she just sold her vote. She saw the money as reward for voting and a sign of more to come yet evil people like you will be defending such rubbish
How much did you sell your soul?
is like you are genz, if not you will know that politicians have been buying vote since independence

He would now be starting his second tenure and won’t be eligible to contest afterwards because he can’t be sworn in more than twice according to the new law
pls can I have more details on this new law and where it is written pls

If a deputy governor in Nigeria takes over as governor due to the governor’s impeachment, death, or permanent incapacitation, this partial term does not automatically count as a full term under certain conditions. Here’s how it works according to the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria:

1. If the deputy governor completes less than two years of the governor’s term: This partial term does not count as a full term. This means the new governor could run for two additional full terms afterward, potentially serving nearly ten years in total.

2. If the deputy governor completes more than two years of the governor’s term: This counts as a full term. In this scenario, the new governor would be eligible to run for only one more four-year term, serving a maximum of two terms (including the partial term).

So, whether the partial term counts depends on how long the deputy governor serves after assuming office.

Na only one year aiyedatiwa serve after akeredolu's death so he is eligible to run for another term

nairalanda1:
It's been almost ten years. Nigeria is still not an islamic country.

Buhari that actually said that Sharia was going to be the law of Nigeria, he took over and forgot about what he said until the last day of office. Even when he put a sharia judge in charge of the supreme court, the said judge had to rule accoriding to secular laws.

Tinubu that is probably not serious about his religion won't shariase Nigeria.

No one is going to make Nigeria sharia compliant. The only countries where that can work is where muslims hold something like at least 80% of the population. Or where most muslims follow one sect. Anything else is asking for perpetrual crisis, which would at the end of the day benefit no one.

Buhari was blabbing about sharia to build his base in the North. Once he did that, that was the end. When he was running for election in 2014, nothing for sharia . Same thing in 2019.

Politics na cruise.

That's why I don't take any of our politicans serious.
President Tinubu recently attended the conference of Islamic Nations.

Anyway, I got your gist.
Any move to shariarise Nigeria must amount to either of the following: disintegration of Nigeria or killing of millions of people in Nigeria.

Before 2015, Muhamadu Buhari had lost two Presidential elections in a row. He gathered Muslims in Kaduna in 2001 and told them that he would not relent until Islamic sharia criminal laws are applied in all the states of Nigeria. He instantly became a hero of northern Nigeria and started winning millions and millions of votes in the north during Presidential elections.

Before he left office in 2023, Buhari established a succession pattern for 24 years Muslim presidency for Nigeria viz: Buhari 8yrs, Tinubu 8yrs, Shettima 8yrs. He established the first Muslim-Muslim presidency and the first Muslim to Muslim presidency since 1999. What's the objective for all these, if not to gradually condition Nigeria and Nigerians for future Talibanization of Nigeria?

Democracy in Nigeria is being killed, kai people don't vote again for candidates they vote for 10k and it is so glaring. Kai. Una never know and u want good leadership and governance. Emerging 10k to at least 200k plus voters and he will not recoup his money and he can only use 4 years. SMH
