When Will Tinubu's Temporary Pain Elapse? by Bobloco(op): 6:32am On Nov 18, 2024
When Tinubu began unleashing what he consistently referred to as reforms, right from the swearing-in podium, a few days and months passed, and he realized that the reforms were causing pain, hunger, and starvation among the citizens. However, he continued to assure Nigerians that these were just 'baby steps' of pain, at one point calling it 'temporary pain' and promising that it would soon be over.

Eighteen months later, his policies have continued to inflict severe pain and untold hardships on the citizens. The suffering seems to be increasing daily: transportation costs keep rising, the prices of goods and services continue to climb, and disposable incomes keep decreasing. As we speak, the middle class has been completely wiped out in just eighteen months of the Tinubu government.

All of this begs the question: When will these "temporary pains" be over? We all know that the word "temporary" refers to something that lasts for only a short time.

It's a lie that middle class has been completely wiped out. That is the problem with most Nigerians, they don't understand that the middle class is not a fixed number of people, it's a socio economic status that people can move in and out of.

The middle class is not entirely wiped out in Nigeria, it's just that some people have moved down to the lower class due to the economic reforms that are gradually being implemented.

God bless Nigeria for ever!

Are these truly reforms, or wicked and draconian policies masquerading as reforms, unleashed to inflict hunger and starvation on Nigerians?

The truth is, Nigerians have never witnessed anything like this since independence

After 8 years,, by then it will become permanent. Anyone who thinks things will get better than they currently are is delusional.

It will only get worse.

Look at the exchange rate for the last 12months and tell me if things will get better.

We'll adjust.... The biggest mistake we made as a nation was voting out Goodluck Jonathan... I'm not sure we'll recover from that singular mistake or misadventure

Re: When Will Tinubu's Temporary Pain Elapse? by Kelklein(m):
Brace up.. not anytime soon.. they want you to get used to it.. then they would beat their chest as the one who brought pain and got you used to it..🤔

Watch this timeline..

Day 1: "Subsidy is gone." Deal with it.

6 months after: "It's only a Labour Pain. When the baby comes you would be happy"

1 year after: It's still Labour Pain. We have crossed the rubicon

1 year 6 months after: "we have crossed the rubicon again. We know things are hard. But wait for light at the end of the tunnel." (meanwhile *Inflation close to 34%; *Middle Class wiped out)

2 years on: "There is still hardship worldwide. we would start to now provide more palliatives (rice) to cushion this pain that has refused to go away." They will tell you the opposition are partly responsible for the T-pain. Very absurd.

3 years on - "a tenure is not enough to make meaningful impact. That tunnel light would come in the second term. Don't lose your renewed hope yet."

4 years on - (watch the tone suddenly turns apologetic) "we are 'truly' sorry for the pains you have been through and still going through. We have reduced Dollar back to 2k (it was heading to 2,500 in the previous year), and fuel is now steadily priced and readily available at 1,500/L down from 1600 it sold the previous year. We have asked Dangote to prioritise local consumption to his foreign customers.

Oya, Take this 5k ($2), vote for us again. We assure you in the second term, we would build houses for all living Nigerians, and triple the minimum wage."

Maybe we all really just deserve these people.

When we begin to produce most of the things we need especially enough food to feed ourselves

When we reduce our importation to only important item we cannot produce. Waiting to have a subsidy dollar to buy fake hair, nails and toothpick and other rubbish wont happen again

When Nigerian youth learn to be productive instead allowing themselves being used to make money on youtube and other social media by sharing , like and comment on foolish posts which owner is using to press their mumu button.
