Looking at Julie Coker's videos and pictures, I'm realising that beauty standards were very very different back then. For one, they were not so fixated on body size and Julie's body size represented the quintessence of the African woman's body structure. The current insistence that a beauty queen must look anorexic is a Western import. The average Nigerian woman on the streets has meat on her bones.
Not true for 2024. Married and pregnant women can now apply and contest. Body size and anatomy are not being used against them.

Oluchi focused primarily on modelling and she's probably Nigeria's most famous model.

Julie Coker and Rosemary Anieze-Adams are legends of television.

Regina Askia was also initially focusing on modelling and she did a lot of adverts for Visine, Chicken George, etc, but she later focused on acting and became a legend of Nollywood.

Very beautiful women love rough looking ugly men. It's very natural and being that Ojukwu was the son of a very wealthy man too. Ask ex president OBJ about Ojukwus background and you will be amazed. Ojukwus was also a very intelligent man and brave

Religious limitations as the North considers pageantry to be a promotion of nudity and glorification of promiscuity.

Educational inhibitions on women that have hampered the intellectual growth of the Northern girl child, that is until recent years. Pageantry combines beauty and brains to guarantee success.

Societal backwardness.

CHIDIMMA VANESSA ONWE ADETSHINA (born 2002).

Beauty pageant

Chidimma Adetshina was a law student in South Africa who took part in the Miss South Africa pageant. There were protests and criticisms because some people said that her name did not sound South African. A government minister demanded that she should be removed from the competition because she was not South African enough.

The Miss South Africa pageant authorities backed Chidimma, but the criticisms grew after a video surfaced of Chidimma and her father with her father's friends in Igbo cultural attire.

An investigation was initiated and the South African Home Affairs Department claimed that preliminary investigation showed that Chidimma's mother stole the identity of another person. Chidimma was forced to withdraw from the pageant due to the controversy. The issue became a major discussion topic around the world.

The Silverbird Group invited her to take part in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant and she won the competition.

She represented Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico and came second, the highest ever placement by a Nigerian.
Which state is she from? Oh! She represented Taraba State

Fulani girls are not the most beautiful in Nigeria, stop the nonsense. Stop the Igbo hate.

Fulani girls only have pretty face, courtesy of their Arab bloodline, but when it comes to complete beauty which comprises of; fine face, hot shape, good feminine demeanor and personality, Igbo women comes first.

You don't judge beauty by face.

Most Fulani girls don't have that killer shape that make every man enter into fantasy unlike Igbo girls cheesy

In Nigeria, Fulani girls have the prettiest face

Yoruba ladies have the hottest shape, their ukwu aka buttocks can make a man like me forget his hometown shocked

But Igbo girls have a more complete beauty of fine face, nice shape and feminine carriage/demeanor which makes them one of the favorite for most Nigerian men of all tribe cool
