it still same for me , I have created a ticket for it. the customer care line I have being calling has recorded prompt so there I tried several time to see if there was an option to speak with an agent but I could not . Also first bank customer care line non was going through

I just applied for my us visa renewal via the Avits portal and I have done everything up to appointment datem however I was not given the option for interview waiver even though I qualify for same. Pls what can the issue be and how do I rectify it to ensure either get an interview waiver confirmation letter. My present visa expires in December

Did you copy and paste the confirmation number if yes it will indicate valid it happened to me not until I typed the number itself I was able to move forward

Does it take time sometimes or is it because it's weekend already?

Have you previously tried to book an appointment with other Lagos or Abuja, and now because you can’t find date, you then decided to change location? If yes, there’s a way to bypass that

Please how possible to get a fully funded scholarship into a university that offers architecture in the USA, and how easy can it be to use HND qualification to push for Masters of Architecture MA? CGPA (3.01/4).

I second everything that DFocus has shared.

I was previously on a J1 a while ago so I will add that, during the interview, ensure that you are able to distinguish between your program sponsor and your place of primary of activity. Depending on why you are on the J1 (au pair, exchange student, student, residency, clinical fellow, or postdoc), the location of your program sponsor and place of primary may be the same or different locations. Some VOs may not know this difference. Additionally, if your program is a government-sponsored program, your SEVIS fee may be waived. If this applies to you, ensure that you are able to explain this to the VO. J1 applicants are not as many as F1 and some VOs may not be aware of some these differences. Be able to confidently speak to your program choice and how this program ties into your previous work and your future career.

Lastly, check to see if you are subject to the 2 year home residency rule. If you are, weave this into your interview as an additional home tie. This can improve your approval chances since your visa "demands" that you come back home for at least 2 years.

My visa got denied at Abuja embassy Nov 6 7:30am and I want you guys to check it out and tell me if there is any fault so I can prepare well for my next interview next month … she approved 2 visiting visa right because me .

Me: No, but I have a fiancé which we’re planning to get married as soon as I return

Me: so aside from the political science program and it’s concentration which matches my interest, I discovered an ongoing research work by Dr Phillip at the department on the effect of grassroots movement on policy change in developing countries, moreso this topic resonates with my interest in understanding how local activism can drive political reforms which will be really helpful to Nigeria when I return whereby the citizens can be directly involved in policy making and governance as a whole

Vo: so what’s your plan after graduating?
Me: after completing my masters degree in political science, I intend to return back to Nigeria to utilize the skills and knowledge I have gained in the US particularly about African politics to create a well organized and reform political ideology here in Nigeria

Me: No

Then she handed me the blue abi na yellow paper I go call and then she said unfortunately we won’t be approving your visa … please can you tell me where the error is guys and also I actually have a sister in the US but I felt I should say no so they won’t deny me cos she also got a student visa in 2019 and she is already a citizen and a soldier self but I felt if I say yes it will hurt my chances of getting a visa cos she didn’t return back .. but if you guys feel there is another reason for my denial please tell me because I’m preparing for another visa interview in few days and do you think I should say I have a sister there and I hope me saying no before won’t get my visa denied again if I say yes this time around

The last option is to create a new DS-160 application to get a new DS-160 confirmation number if you’ve reached out to AVITS without result.
