LordAdam16:
Nah.
It was inevitable.

There is a mad scramble by both sides to shore up their positions in anticipation of Trump's peace deal.
Russia has scaled up their attacks. North Korea sent troops. China recently started delivering lethal weapons.
NATO wants to give Ukraine a similar boost. Ukraine already lost half of their occupied territory in Kursk and are beginning to lose territory in Kharkov. Russia is probing in Chernihiv.

Long-range strikes are to complicate Russian logistics and hopeful weaken the pace of advancement.
For Russia, their interception rate is above 90% and the escalation ladder firmly favors them now. They could invite 100,000 NK troops. Pound Ukraine relentlessly through January 20. They've prosecuted this war as a long-term war of attrition. With Biden's casus belli, they can implement a mad-dash strategy of intensive warfare for the next 90 days. They could also target NATO forces asymmetrically across the globe. An accident here or there. Huge range of options for Putin.

The best analogy to describe Biden's action is a jilted gf who keys your car.
Sucks. But the relationship is over. You escaped. Just take the car to a shop and get a neat paintjob. Then keep it moving.
Putin has exercised restraint so far. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't take this in stride and keep his eyes peeled on the prize.
Eastern Ukraine is his. Biden is a lame-duck who cannot change that reality. So it's not in his interest to overreact.
Anyone who has relatives in a NATO installation in the Middle East should send their prayers though. Iranian proxies are a cheap way to kill NATO personnel. 3 US soldiers were killed (40 injured) early this year in Jordan. Putin might greenlight another hit as part of a multi-pronged response.

-Lord
Biden did it out of pettiness,no need to over analyze the situation.

Prospering in the face of adversity, while fanatics are depending on an imaginary bloodthirsty god to get rid of Israel.

Imagine losing about 35 billion naira ( $21m @ 1,700/1$) simply because you are unfortunate to have the funds of Ur organization deposited in bank that failed 😩😩😩

So many staff profit sharing and profitability bonus Don follow the money go 🤦‍♂️. Shareholders possible dividend washed down the drain....,

Omo, CBN and NDIC have questions to answer as to how they allowed heritage bank to fail under their watch o.

I'm sure a company smaller than multichoice that has most of its account domiciled with Heritage bank would just die with heritage bank if they face same situation.
bukola saraki has done it again

i am sure the man was lobbying in the background.

Bro I have seen a pitbull bite a cat to death despite the owner flogging it with a big stick numerous times. It didn't let go until it was dead. That breed when in attack mode is pure evil. Unless you shot them forget about it
Even their owners are not safe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm2whFH0VHw?si=-rcKUFoDH0CuGXx7
Pitbulls are bred with very powerful jaws and can hold their prey.

That's not what I am saying. I am saying that the breed will behave the way it is trained. When dogs are socialised they will be friendly to everyone.

Most people who go for pitbulls are usually people that want an aggressive dog. I can take a Pitbull puppy and make it into a very adorable dog

Yeah, dem Sàràkí get fault for running the bank aground but CBN & NDIC have their own fault for watching the bank fail under their supervision.

Imagine people having billions as deposit in the bank and only able to recover paltry N5m through NDIC 😩

it is safe until it is not

we had a big ass project we were going to do with heritage bank - order of 500m to 1 b. right up to the moment the bank was dissolved the people we had in the bank did not seem to know what was happening.

then look at GTB, who have devolved into a useless bank overnight. if there should be any small rumor, there will be a run on the bank

Not exactly the same. Zenith Bank unlike Heritage is publicly traded. The audited books are everywhere. It will be obvious to everyone if the bank was in distress. Banks do no just become insolvent overnight and as of today and the foreseeable future, Zenith bank is absolutely safe.

Please who knows what is going on with GTbank ? Didn't receive alert of transfers made into the account throughout last month. Spent 4 hours at their bank just to confirm those transactions and now, I didn't see/get my monthly interest for October. I don't have hours to waste again for this.

Please, CBN should clear the air on what's going on let us know what we are doing o!

stop using them for the time being

simple as that.

you will just get heart attack if you have critical transactions or low cash flow

last week i was lulled into a false sense of security. someone paid me for a job and i dropped my gt account. the money did not show for two hours. meanwhile i had told some other creditors you are getting your money today, [kindly fk off not said but implied] . commence annoyed sweating.

Did you later get an SMS alert ? If you did, I can conclude that GTco didn't pay my interest for October which I was supposed to get Nov 1st.

Thing is, that account isn't linked to anything online and there's no way I can confirm anything except through an SMS alert.

He is actually right about Zenith bank being in very very good standing. At the risk of sounding too overconfident, I can say Zenith is one of the biggest bank that can never fail except they run into problem politically.

What happened to Oceanic back then is not what can happen to a publicly traded bank this 2024 .

i did.

i consider it a bad idea for your account not to be online though. usually emails drop before sms . and you can easily audit your spend and locate payments if there are disputes

Before GT's recent issues, did you consider them one of those banks that can't fail?

And which other banks would you put in the category you've placed Zenith?

What is happening to GTB has nothing to do with their financial position. When I say "FAIL", I'm talking about their financial stability and not service disruption which is happening to GTB. Banks like Access, Zenith, GTB, UBA are actually doing well. They are not in the level of Heritage bank that failed recently, that's the point. Before those banks fail, u would've seen the handwriting on the wall

i agree. but the situation can lead to misconception and manipulation . if someone were to start a rumour that gtb was insolvent - it could prompt a run on the bank leading to artificially induced insolvency. since everything is ultimately about confidence

They have their corporate communication team to deal with those kind of rumors; moreover it is common knowledge the level of GTB's financial stability. I don't think people will really be worried to the extent of dumping the bank.

I dunno how common this knowledge is sha, maybe within the corporate/big business circles it's common knowledge, but for your average Joe customer, that might not be the case.

Anybody that reads news will hear how well they are doing financially. Nairametrics literally talk about these banks almost every quarter.

Even when the recapitalization was announced earlier this year, there was an article analyzing how banks need to raise before meeting the new capital base. These banks are in good standing compared to others

a second option is you buy a mini pc. these range from 100 to 200k. if you have control of your space, it may be cheaper to buy a mini pc, monitor, keyboard and mouse

bought this over the weekend for a possible project

for you- oga cfo - pdf-xchange imho is one of the best out there. much faster and less bloated than adobe.

but because adobe is the og, there are some things it still does better - no app can match adobe in accurately converting pdf files back to word or excel in my experience

outside of that - i would say go for pdf-xchange

as a so so techie , i dey fear all in one monitor pc because repair can be wahala. and as i am getting oldeer, i want to do repair sharp sharp rather than spend all day taking a machine apart.

also as much as possible, go for the corporate brand name models. they are built for abuse and quick end user repair

most of these devices get hot because they have not been properly cleaned of dust. same applies to laptops

naa chief adobe is BLOATED. too many features you will not use. and their over do subscription with charge to exit [if you are paying lipsrsealed lipsrsealed]

on my pc -
acrobat is taking 2.65gb
pdf-x change is taking 570mb

and pdf xchange produces far leaner pdf files than acrobat

if i was paying, na pdf xchange. i actually paid for the app back in the day before the depletion of disposable income
