Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the immediate suspension of all consultancy services and related providers in the State’s public service.

The suspension was contained in a notice on Monday issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, through the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua.

It reads, “All financial transactions and related services with affected consultants and service providers are to be put on hold immediately, pending a review the Review Committee, established by the Governor, submits its report.

“All Accounting Officers, Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are expected to take note and comply strictly with this directive.”

So far I am beginning to like some of the actions of the governor and I hope and pray that he lead the state to a higher level of development.

There is nothing to like here yet, this is a normal routine, a new government will put a stop to the activities and policies of it's predecessor, then implement their own plans. They have their own people and mechanisms to replace whatever they are putting a stop to.

Let's watch and see the policies of the new government, then we will know what to like or not.

But going by the culture of the APC and what stand for, we can only expect stealing, killing and destruction.

Thanks for your comment but I never expected you to like what I like or dislike what I dislike. As for the party in power, that does not determine who will do the right thing or steal from the state. What is relevant is the individual involved. There are saints in all the parties likewise thieves in all the parties.

I am not against what you said, you have a right to your opinion and I respect that.

What I said is that we cannot applaud the suspension of policies and changes the new government is making, there is nothing epic about it, it is a normal routine for every new government.

Let us wait to see how the new policies will play out, but like our elders say, na from clap we go know how dance go be... Interpretation? Check the first appointments and appointees.

But to say it is about the individual involved, doesn't apply in a case where a godfather and other party cohorts fought vehemently to regain power with so much zest and vengeance. This fight wasn't about the people, no.

The individual here doesn't matter, he can be powerless when Osadebe Avenue would be run from the palour of the godfathers, he can't do anything but their bidden.
Again check the first appointments and tell me whose bid was that.

Except the individual decides to go the way of ambode, obaseki and fubara, only then can you say we can experience a change. Until then, fingers crossed.

What is wrong with the appointment so far. That Oshiomole's son is the commissioner of health even with obvious intimidating profile to you should not be appointed. If we are to mention performance about qualifications, then I will gladly say since 1999, no commissioner of health in Edo State had a better CV. He his super qualified and within a year, we in Edo should withness transformation in the healthcare system that the previous government so much privitalized.
