Popular musician, Phyno explains why most music artistes’ careers crash when they finally get married.

He spoke on this during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast.

Phyno described the music industry as demanding and all-consuming, making it challenging to balance with marital commitments or other pursuits.

In his view, tying the knot often means professional downfall for many celebrities.

Phyno said …

“Check everybody, statistically, I feel so [most celebrities’ careers crash when they get married].

“Music basically is a jealous career. That’s why people drop out of school to face music. The ones that had to juggle the two, you have to give them kudos because it’s not easy. Sometimes, some people get to a certain fame level and rush back to school and come back to continue from where they stopped because you have to actually face one. Music is tasking; it takes all your time.

“Another thing about music is that it is what you pass through that you put into it—life experiences—except if you use songwriters. But if you write your songs, you can’t be talking about happiness when you’ve got a girlfriend that’s stressing you.”

Women will want to fully colonise a man even before you get married to them not to mention when you are legally married to them.
In the music industry your fan base determines your celebrity status and many female fans will always want to be around you and if you drive them far away from yourself because your wife said so, you realise that your fan base is dwindling which entails your career going down.
But as a single man you can change girlfriend anytime if she becomes troublesome to your fan base in order to keep your career in an upward trajectory

I wonder why footballers get married earlier than musicians and majority of them don't have their careers derailed. Maybe it's because music appeals more to the opposite sex and many men cannot resist the urge.

Well, artistic things depend on inspiration.
Inspiration comes at any time, day or night, sober or drunk.
And the marital home is not quite the place for irregular behaviour.
Unless your partner understands this and is prepared for this type of spontaneous irregular life.
I don't really think Nigerian ladies, after all the suffer and struggle for water, light, education, want
to live in a scatter-scatter house.

I know a guy. He was a teacher in a Secondary school.
He was very good in Art and photography.
But his artist lecturer at university taught them do be doing raster hair.
He didn't do it in the school. But was always wearing local dress when the other teachers were
in suit, shirt and trouser. His home was suffering, scatter-scatter, paint everywhere.
The wife comot, as she couldn't stand it.
Last I heard of him, he's in US with complete raster hair and totally separated from wife and kid.

Yea seriously…reekado banks and co no be only artist even footballers too.. i read about footballers going through alot on pitch after marriage, morata nearly give up football years back as enderick young brazilian talent wey suppose dey drag form with yamine lamal go marry i know its over… no play time in madrid even brazil no call him
