COMRADES, I am creating this post in response to a thread created yesterday by a fellow Nairalander that; when he's married his living condition will be better! That he is tired of living in abject poverty! (I'll be very happy if the mods can attach that link to this post)

https://www.nairaland.com/8245002/life-get-better-when-got

I went to see a friend today, unfortunately, when I called her, she told me that she was not around, then I decided to stroll back home; on my way home, lo and behold! This is what I saw! A family of four: 'papa, mama, senior pikin, and junior pikin' carrying dirty sack bags on their heads, immediately, my curiosity was aroused! Then I said let me trail these guys and see what they were carrying, and where they were going! After trailing them for a long distance/ journey, then I discovered that they were scavengers! In awe, and disbelief, I'd exclaimed and asked myself!...a whole family scavenging in order to survive?

FIRST PHOTO; is the last kid, age between 9-10 years old

SECOND PHOTO; is the first son age between 11-12 years old, he was the first to arrive at the selling point, you can see that he is sorting the garbage/ market

THIRD PICTURE; their father walking barefooted, when you look at the photo of the father, you'll see that from afar there is a little school boy also staring at the father and the last child, a mild drama was played out at that moment, the mother of the little boy and his sisters had already boarded an autorigshow (keke) but the little boy has refused to follow them in, he stood outside staring at the scavengers...only God knows what was in the mind of that child

LAST PHOTO; when we all arrived at the selling point, then I looked at the other direction, there, I saw their mother coming to join them; I tried to know about the transaction, then the buyer (a Hausa guy) approached me (because I looked suspicious) and asked me, 'hope it is OK', I replied him in Hausa, 'yes it is'...I lost my way, then I left them there!

My advice to every single person/bachelor out there is that; things are not longer getting better in this country, always get yourself prepared before getting a woman pregnant or
married, don't allow anyone to push you into unprepared marriage and thereafter remained unarranged and scattered for the rest of your life!
Thank you all

When you are married, your living condition will be better doesn't apply to everyone. Getting married made me seat up because now I wasn't just thinking about myself, I am very lazy but don't like to disappoint people.

The poster may be misjudging these people.
Waste business is very lucrative.
Many waste collector's earn far more than some cashier's in some commercial banks.
Do not judge a book by it's cover.

Hope you know you dont have any right to snap and post picture of people like that on forums without their consent. They can sue you easy and be rich from your stupidity what they are doing is working and getting by.

The advice no bad you give but sometimes this things work out complicatedly just fine

They will never listen. The annoying part is that, it is mostly married couples who are broke that marriage shame singles. You will hear things like: "Go and marry. Is it easy to be married"? I shake my head whenever I see married people with children struggling to survive. I feel no iota of pity for them because they brought the sufferings upon themselves.
A topic for lazy ass to masturbate and feel superior, marriage is something that must do, except something is wrong with you.

So many people married very prepare and better for it, but in mid way journey, things turn sour.

Will you also blame that one for not prepared as well?

Wen a man marries, there is high tendency for him, to struggle the more and bring more money, but wen you are waiting for wen million will come, you will reach 50 and still be expecting the miracle, miracle that's not even thr.

Man that married that latter, do better in life are far far far, more than man that married and crumbled completely.

The cost of living in PH is too high. I wonder what would be happening there during this Tinubu era. Meanwhile, trouble maker Melagros, don't you know that one of the most lucrative businesses in Nigeria now is dealing on scrap? Your movement here shows that you're jobless and probably eating your mom's food. So, I advise you to join the scrap business and thank me later.

I'm 86% joking oh Mela, before you crush my head here, abeg🙏
Go to sapele delta state you will understand the real meaning of high cost of living

This journalist...you are highly uninformed.

Come to the garbage sorting point in Nyanya, Abuja. Those boys that do this job live in that filth from Monday to Friday. Friday evening, they take very elongated, proper baths to clean off all the dirt, then they change into their lovely clothes and head home to their families with the week's takings.

When the price of copper went sky-high, some of these guys made crazy money selling stripped copper wires to Chinese buyers. If dem no tell you, you no go know.
Come to the area close to one of my shops along Abuja-Keffi road and see how trucks come to pack sorted cans of coke, fanta, and beers. I mean, hundreds of sacks in 10-ton trucks.

Dey play.

Some of those guys you see selling dollars everywhere, that's how they started. From scavenging, to selling pure water, to doing mai shai, or shoe mending, and from there to become apprentice to one Alhaji selling foreign currencies, to become a currency dealer themselves. They will have 10 children, and maybe send 2 to school. One will enter university, come out, and become a civil servant, en route to becoming a director in a government MDA. The other will join NDA, or go to the flying school in Zaria and become a pilot for civil aviation or join the air force. The rest will continue the cycle, or become farmers. When it is time for election, they will show you the power they have in numbers.

Go find out how many southern pilots are in the airforce. Or how many are in the presidential fleet. Find out the ratio of northerners to southerners in the armed forces. You will be dazed. You go dey from far dey mock them.

It is a closed industry they have kept within themselves. You wey be southerner go dey mock dem...but they know better. Today if they say you cannot be president, they have the numbers to do the job, and the appropriate people in the appropriate places to do the hatchet job if needed.

TOPCRUISE:
Marry prepared is the lesson.
I have heard from some folks especially women and even clerics who argue that if you are single and jobless or you are poor the moment you marry things will turn around for you. I view them not only as fools but terrible manipulative people
It is not 🚫
It matters that the individual is productive and having responsibilities will make him double hustle and indirectly become responsible.

Speaking from experience 🤝
