EXTRA: ‘Would you say this if your father was in government?’ — el-Rufai’s wife tackles son over Tinubu

Hadiza, the wife of Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna, has tackled Basir, her son, for criticising President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The two members of el-Rufai’s family were tackling each other on X on Tuesday after Bashir said “a mental illness” was “permeating” Tinubu’s media team over the presidency’s recent attack on former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

On Sunday, Obasanjo described the 2023 elections as a “travesty” and posited that Nigeria must appoint new, credible leaders for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with short tenure to prevent corruption and re-establish trust in the institution.

The presidency felt insulted by Obasanjo’s remarks and questioned the former president’s moral ground to make such a statement.

Bayo Onanuga, spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, said Obasanjo presided over the most fraudulent election in Nigeria’s history.

Onanuga added that subsequent administrations have been battling the “poor choices in economic management made” during the former president’s tenure.

But in his post, Bashir described Tinubu’s media team as “ineffectual clowns” for attacking Obasanjo when “inflation is at 33 percent”.

The post gathered several comments, one of which was from Hadiza.

The former Kaduna first lady asked Bashir if he would “be saying this if your father were part of this government?”

Underneath, Bashir replied that his father “would have resigned by now due to the failure of the administration”.

He added that El-Rufai would have “dissociated” himself from the government.

All I can say is that Obasanjo was right about everything he said.

The insults from the presidency is totally unacceptable, Under Obasanjo, Nigerians were buying cars and building houses everyday, but now Nigerians are selling everything they have just to feed, this government is the worst in the history of Nigeria.

The woman hit the bail on the head. This is the problem of Nigerian, they criticize when they aren't benefiting but kept mute or support whatever is being done whether good or bad when the are or there's potential of benefiting.

This hypocrisy is highly inherent in the DNA of the obedience. Where was Bashir when his father was destroying people livelihood and property in Abuja, where was he when his father turned Kaduna to highly debtor state.

He supports Obj now because his father was humilated and relegated to the background in scheme of things.

Where was his voice when Buhari was in power snd his father was acting as VP blocking Osinbajo. Let's wait and see his end. Internet never forget.

Why do some of us on this forum like abusing, making some derogatory remarks to a fellow members comment in this forum .

An OP will post a News/Topic and someone will reply , while someone that thinks he/she knows it all will just reply the comment with words like e.g
Illiterate, mumu, fools,kids , are you blind ,dullard , your papa, bastard , e t.c to start or end his/her conversation .
Why ?

This place shouldn't be like this , we hardly know ourselves, just this forum that brought us together, if you know something that others do not know why can't you say it and go your way ..
