DrDoc:Well good for you, not everyone has the luxury of rain this year, how much did you invest and what is your percentage gain. Tell me it wasn't stressful you just put seeds and they grow. |

Keep saving because that money can't take u to any good country. Your best bet is student visa but #10m can't even pay school fees in UK, us, Canada, Australia etc. Please in all you do, do not allow any agent here on nairaland or outside here deceive you by telling you that they can get u visit visa and u can convert it, my brother na lie. Don't ever japa with visiting visa, na your body go tell you. Keep saving, if you have like #20m, u can try UK. |

DrDoc:Yeah that is where the pain his, even with money ,you still might not find labourers ..So imagine putting an office man through that stress ..It is better to let people to know that farming is not easy before they invest and start complaining of back pain. |
| Re: Country To Go On A 10m Budget by DrDoc: 1:42pm On Nov 20, 2024 |
Babangidapikin:The pay is worth the stress. If any man however office man learns the ROI he tends to get from two years of production, he wont mind the stress. The motivation and energy would come. I know this much. |

Gerrard59:Exactly Dangote has been selling the same cement since it was 200 naira, everytime Nigeria is going through a crisis he just increases it’s price jeje and continues business Same with the okoyas that sell pens plastic chairs notebook etc @op Since it was type of bakery that was not in demand simply move to one that is in demand If you were tired of the bakery in total , there is cassva to Garri processing There is cassava to cassva flour There is even cassva bread ( extremely cheap ) Demand fell for your bread in your bakery because Nigerians Became extremely poor So instead of calling it a day, simply go into a production of something these poor people can still afford which is most likely foodstuff to be on the safe side Trust me in this day and age of internet it is possible to Learn how to make anything I learnt how to bake breads by watching YouTube of people baking them online How to make Garri from Cassva is another thing your factory I’m sure already had the facilities for Palm kernel to palm oil is another Don’t look down on how dirty the business may be You are only trying to survive Bread is not a life saver in Nigeria Since it because expensive people found an alternative Even gan self you could have combined all of the said above with even poultry and use the cassava flour to mix it with the wheat flour for ur bakery and find a way of manually adding gluten to make it rise In a time of economic crisis like this the only business one can rely on is a business that manufactures food that most people rely on or don’t have substitute And most of these foods in the Nigerian context are sometimes food people look down on and the farmers who produce them people look down on And in the end the farmer cashes out A ton of cassava tubers used in making Garri is 100,000 naira 1 ton can get you 5 bags of 50kg Garri 1 bag of Garri sells for 60,000 naira in the market this explains why 1 Kongo of Garri sells for 1,200 naira cos there are 20 kongos in one bag So who is the winner who is the loser The businessman who went through the first of going to the farm to look for cassva and turn it to Garri or the final consumer that went to buy Garri in the market This is how businesses work in Nigeria bro You could even combine layers chickens on your factory Nigeria is going through a crisis don’t rely on one hustle since it’s the same generator thet would power everything anyway, it’s the same staff salaries etc etc |

Gerrard59:He ran into badluck in the business, which he wasn't prepared for, and is blaming hot bread Highlife bread has been in business for over 70 years. They haven't closed shop yet. Bakery business might not be for him but it doesn't mean the business is condemned. |

Gerrard59:Good question, instead of closing down the bakery, the owner should switch to the hot bread to stay afloat. |
