The best fighter jet in the Ukrainian air force is the derelict F-16.
All of its air defense stations are vulnerable to Russia's hypersonics.
If Russia picks one or a few cities for total destruction, it will swarm the airspace with its fighter jets and we'll have proper WW2 style dog fights which Russia will win handily because it has the better jets, better pilots in far higher quantity.
Prior or concurrently, it'll wipe out every AD unit in the vicinity with hypersonics.
Afterwards, it's routine bombing runs dropping tons of bombs.

You hear contested airspace and you jizz your pants without understanding the context.
Russia is fighting a localized conflict. The fighting is restricted to Eastern Ukraine.
The Su-57 is superfluous to requirements under these conditions. The Migs (both jets and helos) are perfectly capable.
The main thrust is provided by Russia's artillery, where they enjoy a massive advantage. But everyday the Migs and older-gen Sus execute dozens of missions across the frontline.
Russia is not going to send an Su-57 to Lviv when the fighting is happening in Donetsk to please you. Iskanders do their jobs well at striking targets far behind the frontline.

You're legit ret**ded if you're arguing that Russia can not degrade Air Defense and bomb any Ukrainian city to the smithereens.
Somehow they've been able to take out most of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, but they would be unable to target the handful of Air Defense installations in one or a handful of cities.

What jets would Ukraine use to win dog fights and establish air superiority? F-16? Su-25? Mig-29? And in what numbers? You need to take your meds.

Needless to say, it was a Ukrainian victory that ended in the destruction of several miles of Russian columns of tanks and artillery.

700,000 Russian troops and thousands of military equipments (helicopters, jets, tanks) are still comfortably sitting in the annexed territories but Ukraine is more concerned about striking Kursk and other positions irrelevant to them in the grand scheme of things.

We are all waiting to see the US fight an opponent with satellites, GPS, drones and other sophisticated weaponry.

They were lucky that during their invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and co, social media wasn't all that common.

It'd would have really exposed their performance against the goat herders.

Did Iraq even have up to 30 air defense systems in total? Or even any satellite? How about drones? How about air force? lmaoo

The entirety of NATO'S satellites and Intel are pointed at Russia, yet Russia was still able to maintain their positions on the already annexed territories.

Russia response?? What weapons has Russia not thrown into the Ukraine war bar nukes?? All weapons system in the arsenal of Russia has been used in Ukraine. There's nothing new that Russia will do.

Putin would make one or two threats, fly its Black Jack the tupolev around US costal lines. Maybe do a nuclear weapons readiness drill. Intensify the rate of Ukraine bombings and things would go back to normal.

As far as I know, Russian troops are advancing on all fronts, taking up more land and haven't moved an inched from the territories they already occupy.

But keep consoling yourself by counting the equipments destroyed, as if they can't be replaced.

But can land be replaced? A hundred years from now those lands will still be Russian, just like St Petersburg and co, and all the people lost will be forgotten.

And you wonder why Russia keeps getting bigger. Land still remains the biggest prize, I'd say even bigger than human life because we're all temporary & replaceable.
